BTBB07 (Jun 4, 2023)
Summary of Receipt
The trip to the Black Eden (Garden of Black Thorns? Black Thorn? Capgras is still deciding) goes successfully. Though Eve might be pretty mad, since she's rather touchy about the whole Apple thing. Regardless, they've also gotten some True Brine, so they'll wait for a week for Dover before the Pathologist starts messing around by himself.

Well, that was a success! We’re all alive, uncursed, and we got everything we needed from the Garden of Black Thorns (a much cooler name than Black Eden—perhaps a bit wordy, but I’m trying to start something here. What if we just cut out “Garden” and called it the Black Thorn? Hm? I like it still having a T sound). We also had the good fortune of not running into Willow DeWeaver while we were there, though I imagine just being in the Black Thorn was enough to let her know we were there. Beyond just having spider-like features, I’m guessing all the spider silk everywhere sends her vibrations or something.
So, we might potentially run into Walled Widow problems in the future, as a heads up. I mean, I don’t know that for sure. She seems like a chill—if not absolutely deranged and dangerous—lady. While I don’t think we did anything to actually offend her, we stole one of her apples. She’s very sensitive about the whole “apple” thing still. Not sure why. I would’ve probably gotten over it by now, but I guess when your kid sets up your downfall, you stay a little salty.
Speaking of salt, though, we also scooped up a mason jar of what I can only imagine is “True Brine.” If anything, it’s acidic salty water from Eden, and that’s gotta be close enough. Oh, and the Pathologist said he saw no signs of the Sebitti, in case you haven’t gotten around to his recei—report yet. Reports. We call them reports because we’re doing our own thing. I think we should give Dover another week before we start messing around a bit with his research ourselves. I don’t think I can contain the Pathologist any longer.
