Summary of Receipt

The CaD helps return Mr. Tormenta's body to the Otherside, sending him into the Mayda in lieu of the Cusp - since, after all, that's inaccessible. 44 mentions that it's actually been the first time he's seen the Otherside, and remarks that it looks surprisingly normal. Though he does remark that Mr. Tormenta's body seemed to blink in and out of existence, and the CaD felt another tremor as the body was heading into the Otherside. He suggests investigating what the earthquakes are.

Ultimately, we decided that Mr. Tormenta would be happier in his hometown, so we all chipped in to give him a flight home. Of course, the region of Ottawa Mr. Tormenta is from isn’t typically linked to any major airports. So, our choices of flights were limited to the one that left at 5 o’clock or the one that left at 6 o’clock. We agreed that 6 o’clock would be the better choice—in some way, we could give him a proper Minnesota send-off. Hopefully, he’s able to find his way back to his actual hometown, but if not, there is some peace among the never-ending waves.

This was actually my first glimpse into Ottawa. I know my parents have always had an interest in Canadian travel, and #35 gets her postcards from Ottawa, but I’ve never had a chance to see it myself. It’s strange. I suppose I was expecting Ottawa to look more… alien. But it wasn’t too dissimilar to the States. But perhaps if we saw Ottawa at a different time of day, I might think otherwise. In any case, I’m very appreciative that the Owner went out of his way to book that flight. I know it would’ve been easier if #71 was currently in town. But, despite the Owner’s claims that he’s grown rusty at trip planning, I still think it went very well.

However… something strange did occur. I don’t think it was the Owner’s fault, but as we watched Mr. Tormenta’s plane fly away, it… flickered. Or, uh, blinked, in and out of visibility for a few seconds. The Owner seemed quite taken aback by this, and I don’t think it was due to clouds or other natural obstructions. It almost looked like it was strobing. And then, as the plane was fully out of sight and on its way to Ottawa—we experienced another major tremor right below us. I think it's time we got to the bottom of this instability in the boundary lines.
