Summary of Receipt

The three successfully infiltrate the cult. Though they're not sure how to make 'caramel' yet, 1313's been flirting with the cultists to gain information, while 53 has disappeared, likely to cause trouble. Also, the codenames for the cultists are just 'vaguely yellow-coloured object' as the first word, and an animal as the second.

EMPLOYEE #44

#53, #1313, and I arrived at the Golden Caramel Works fast-food joint last night at around 10:30 p.m. I assume #17 pulled some strings, as they were already expecting us as new employees. I imagine #17 didn’t have to work too hard, though, as most fast-food joints are always eager to find new recruits. Today we began our training on how to actually infuse the typical fast-food fare with caramel. We won’t be given any access to the actual caramel-making process for a month, maybe longer. Still, we were shown a few interesting pieces of literature about the making of caramel. The main thing we need to be careful about is learning too much about the caramel-making process, as that is how they get you to stick with this miserable job.

In general, the other employees of Golden Caramel Works have been very nice to us. Probably a little too nice, again, in an effort to keep us happy and on board. Though from what I can tell, the turnover rate for this particular establishment seems fairly low. The employees here have a very unique naming scheme—though as a number, am I really one to judge—everyone is named after some sort of animal with a shade of yellow. So far, we’ve met Mustard Pony, Gold Rooster, Oat Ox, Saffron Bat, Citrine Weasel, and Trombone Ram. As we haven’t officially been hired yet, we’re all just called “Sunrise Sheep.” At least they have a sense of humor about it.

As for our reason for visiting this establishment, #1313 has been flirting with anyone she can get her claws into for information, while #53… has gone somewhere. I don’t know where. He was with us through the whole training process, but the second our training Manager, “Ox,” left, he just gave us both a wink and said something like, “I’m going to see if they have this in a bigger size,” referring to his employee uniform. I worry that he is going to get himself, or worse, all of us, in some sort of trouble.
