Branch [Long Island] Date [2021-02-02] Server [Employee No. 62] Beverage [Citrus Tea] File Reference [C-TSS02] Morlocks. Of course. Who else could it be, running around beneath the streets of New York City? Technically, Morlocks aren’t even customers of the Cafe and Diner—they’re the Society of Nom de Plume’s problem. They’re not from our Cycle, either. According to CaDCom’s records, they came from a Cycle that was on the verge of ending. Something called… Goggins(?) helped move them to other Cycles. Fun fact about Morlocks—no one knows for sure; the leading theory is that they were the ones who pushed their original Cycle to the brink of collapse. So yeah… not great news. But thanks to their strange subterranean physiology, they don’t pose much of a threat to surface-dwelling tourists. Here’s the blood reading I got from them:

Morningstar: -25.1215
Infernus: NULL
Hauntaurskald: 23.71815
Ouroboros: 5.14152019
Esterskald: 21.14420
Mayda: NULL
Amaymon: -8.58122
Everdark: NULL
Angelic: NULL
Elder: NULL
Outer Elder: NULL

Unlike Goggins, at least Morlocks are from the Otherside. That said, they come from a really rare region of it, as you can see in the blood reading—right between the Hauntaurskald and Esterskald. That means we’ll need to serve them something from our “secret menu”—Citrus Tea. The hulking bigfoot in the room, though, is that… we can’t actually serve Citrus Tea. There’s a pretty massive issue, namely the Ouroboros splitting the Skald in half. At least, in our Cycle, anyway.

We’ll need to reach out to the Society to figure out how to proceed… if we should even proceed with this service. I mean, worst case scenario, if the Morlocks turn out to be a serious problem, the Time Travelers can handle them. It does make me wonder, though—did their original Cycle have Eloi too, or did the Society of Nom de Plume just call them Morlocks because they’re a bunch of book nerds? Mm. I guess since their Cycle’s gone we’ll probably never know.
