The Achegloom… hm. It’s strange—I don’t feel connected to it at all. Avalon, Nightmarch, the Nine Realms, Olympus, the Underworld… those, I feel bound to, in some inexplicable way. That’s still a mystery we haven’t solved. I went missing, came back with this strange Otherworld tattoo, and suddenly had some degree of control over lesser Myths. But I guess I never had any connection to Mammon’s “secret” Plane that he Anchored to the Infernus either.
That makes me wonder if my tattoo is tied to the opening of the first four Planes. We know for certain that Mammon opened Duat on his own and had direct control over its lesser Myths. So, if the Morbid King is the one who opened the Achegloom… he’d be the one in control of its lesser Myths—ghosts. And that’s… dangerous. Really dangerous. The Egyptian gods of Duat could rebel against Mammon, but I’m not sure the Achegloom has anything like that. It might just be a Plane of endless, wandering ghosts, hungry for purpose… a purpose the Morbid King can offer them.
Unfortunately, as we learned at the End, we can’t selectively close Otherworld Planes. They all stay, or they all go. You can’t rip chapters out of the book… Though, there are still other mythologies that haven’t been Anchored yet. I guess the Ouroboros is technically still “open,” but I wouldn’t want to Anchor anything to that Plane. Mammon opening a Plane was one thing—he’s both a Prince and one of the orchestrators of this universe and the Otherworld. But the Morbid King… who is he? And why was he able to open a Plane? Is it really that easy?
Do you think… did I somehow open the first four by accident?
