MANAGER TITLE: EIGHT
RECEIPT NOTES:
A meeting of the Princes? Far out. That’s bound to be a bloodbath, though, huh? The Princes rarely get along. Usually they fall into three groups:
First, you’ve got Satan, Mammon, and Asmodeus—the troublemakers. They’re the ones who love to mess with humans and the Flipside. Satan’s all about building up his army of demons, specifically designed to infiltrate the Flipside. Mammon? Mammon—well, Baltz caught me up—need I say more? He’s always got some scheme to get even richer. And Asmodeus—she fancies herself the Queen of the Dead. By extension, she figures that gives her some claim over the living, too.
Then there’s the second group: Lucifer, Leviathan, and Beelzebub. They tend to keep to their own planes, and when they do interfere in the Flipside, it’s usually to help humans. Lucifer—well, gee, I wonder what she’s been up to lately to “help” humanity :) Beelzebub? He couldn’t care less about people, but he’s got a soft spot for all things “natural.” He’ll go so far as to kill humans he thinks are a threat to the Flipside’s flora and fauna. And Leviathan? His help is subtler, but that’s how you know he’s doing a good job. He keeps the worst of the worst locked down in the depths of his Plane.
And then there’s the last “group,” if you can call it that—a group of one: Belphegor. The eldest, the laziest, and by far the Prince who seems to do the least. Except, that’s not true, is it? She’s actually the most dangerous of them all. Satan, Mammon, and Asmodeus—they look down on humans. Lucifer, Beelzebub, and Leviathan—they look out for humans. And Belphegor? She’s apathetic toward us. Toward everything. And that apathy? That’s the real killer. Nothing in this Universe is more powerful than pure, existential nihilism.
