Didn’t take long for ol’ Brent to give us a call. ‘Course, he’s not interested in rejoinin’ the Cafe or anything like that. But apparently, there’s been an “accident” at his Butcher Shop, what have you. He swears up and down it wasn’t his doing—but can you really sip that cup of coffee with a straight face? Don’t matter though—Brent’s Family, and we’ll help him out. Naturally, I offered to head over and take a look myself, but he wasn’t too keen on that idea. Instead, he wants to send the problem down to us.

So, as I understand it, next Monday we’ll be conducting an interview of sorts with one of Brent’s employees—one who had a few too many mixed drinks and passed out in the freezer. ‘Course, mixology ain’t exactly new to the Cafe—and by now, No. 161’s gotta be a bit of an expert on the subject. Brent’s not sure whether this newcomer is a natural talent when it comes to mixing drinks, or if something more sinister’s at play—a damn dirty hipster pulling the strings, mixing up cocktails for Tourists and way overcharging ‘em in the process.

Brent also mentioned things have been mighty strange at his shop since the Cafe moved in. Once again, I’d love to go check it out myself—no trouble at all. But whatever Brent’s dealing with, I get the feeling he doesn’t want to drag us into it. Seems like he’s forgotten that the Cafe and Diner is a notoriously nosy business, and I reckon I’ll be paying him a little visit once we’ve got the time anyway. But first—let’s see what this newcomer’s all about. No. 3 and No. 7 are gonna handle the interview, and then we’ll decide what to do from there, I reckon.
