Clue 3: What's the full line?

Answer and Explanation

THE ROYAL REIGN OF ROBERT T. DOLL
IN THE YEAR OF HIS GRACE, TWO THOUSAND AND SEVENTEEN ON THIS THE 24TH DAY OF ROBTOBER
PENNED BY HIS ROYAL SEAMSTRESS, NICOLE LANGLEY

How are we supposed to start these things? Glory and stuff to Autumn or whatever. Not like Robert minds much if I’m not all prim and proper cause I’m his favorite. You know why? I got a lock of Lady Eve’s hair. Mm-hm! You read that right. So, once Joy and I spin this hair into thread, we’re gonna stitch Robert up and turn him into a Living God… well, half prince twice removed. Still, it’s an order of magnitude above lowly shade with a big compensating scepter, right? Right!

Robert has checked the hair himself and is happy with the quality of its power and lineage. No fooling him, that’s for sure. Hopefully, when he “ascends” to the same level of authority as 7 other demons, he’ll have a special spot for me in his Flipside kingdom. I am the hair fetcher, after all, and that counts for something, right? In any case, let’s start spinnin’ and hope his scepter stays in his glorious little mitts long enough for him to ascend. Of course, these things do take time. God—I hate all of this stupid… Y’know what? Screw this. I’m writing a real receipt—just gotta figure out how to turn back on the regular CaDCom… hm…

Oh. Duh. General access code.

Clue 1: If you were around for the Acrhives v1.0, this is going to be trivially easy. If not...you're searching for a series of numbers. If you want a character-count, you could say it's ****. Hint hint.
Clue 2: They're all the same number.
Clue 3: ...look, it's the Cafe and Diner. What number do you really think they'd use? Or, alternatively, what buttons do you press to get an * on a keyboard?

Answer and Explanation

Answer: 8888
Explanation: The general access code is 8888.

That is so much better. And I doubt that little twerp could read this. What a horrible, strange, and unusual week it's been. I guess that's Complexico's special brand of madness. Strange and… well, unusual. Love that the original Owner brought him back to life or whatever he did. It's been a gift that keeps on giving, huh? Everyone loves stupid riddle games with dangerous prizes.

The unfortunate news is that Lucifer no longer owes me a favor. Which is a shame because a Langley favor is all but inescapable. So, Robbie's been living out some weird power fantasy of his, but he knows that the scepter won't stick around forever, right? So he sent me out to get a "strand of Eve's hair", which is allegedly in the deepest, darkest cavernous pits of the Everdark. No thanks. Not doing that. So I decided to go the opposite way, up toward the Morningstar. And, well, I got a lock of her hair. It looks like what I'd imagine Eve's hair looks like, and it's even sorta the same kinda power, right?

Well—the scepter should move on soon enough, and Lucy's hair should burn the living hell out, Robbie. Morningstar's light always cuts through the Everdark's shadows. I am so looking forward to these fireworks. It's gonna rock. Though I am gonna miss these crazy powers, Robbie gave me to traverse the Otherside for him. Bummer, I can't keep them somehow.
