RECEIPT NOTES:

Whew—it can be exhausting trying to fit all your ideas onto a Diner receipt. I’m not sure how much either of you know about the Min Min Lights, so I wasn’t sure if what I was saying made any sense. But that’s okay! It gives me something to explain during the drive over. So, the Min Min Lights are fairly self-explanatory little cryptids. They’re discs of light that swirl around, usually just outside of Aurora in the Morningstar. There must be some sort of crack in the boundary lines that spills into the Outback, since that’s where they often end up on the Flipside—though not this time, it seems.

As I hinted at in the Diner receipt yesterday, I don’t think the Min Min Lights are actually cryptids made of light, nor do I believe you’re ever as close to them as they appear. To be fair, I haven’t spent much time studying them myself, and most Morningstarian scholars haven’t given them much attention either. From what we’ve observed, they’re simply… lights. Sentient lights. Just fuzzy little discs of sparkling light, swirling around in the dim dawns of Morningstar or the dark nights of the Australian Outback.

Personally, I think they’re the cryptids of antlions—little doodlebugs! My guess is that the lights they produce are meant to lure other cryptid insect prey for them to feast on, and we, being non-insects, just see a pretty, mysterious light swirling about. As for why the lights disappear when you approach, I suspect it’s some kind of light refraction from where the cryptids actually are—likely buried in the sand, whether in Death Valley, the Outback, or the pearlescent white sands outside of Aurora in the Morningstar.

Of course, it’s just a guess. But I am also the Prince of the Morningstar. So it’s a very regal guess at that. As for why antlions are showing up in my Plane and not Beelzebub’s? No clue. Insect and germ cryptids don’t seem to be as bound by the Soul Accord as larger organisms are.
