Clue
Hover over the clues if you require!
Clue 1: Split it up into three. What lies East of Java?
Clue 2: And the heart of 'Man' - or a similar sounding island - would be?
Clue 3: One of the ruins of Rome. A Temple, to be precise. Or, if you can spot the common link between the three places, you can just guess it.
Answer and Explanation
Answer: Bali Douglas Saturn
Explanation: Bali is the island just east of Java, the capital city of the Isle of Mann is named Douglas, and a famous ruined temple in Rome is the Temple of Saturn. These three places also happen to be the last names (or close enough) of the three candidates for the Cafe and Diner.

RECEIPT NUMBER: CCAD04
RECEIPT DATE: 9 7 19XX
MANAGER TITLE: TRUSTED ASSOCIATE
RECEIPT NOTES:
While la dame keeps herself entertained chasing one of Mammon’s mutts, I figured I’d take this time to give you a brief dossier on the potential hires you’ll be meeting with, nouvel ami. I would help her, of course—she has given me so much, perhaps even saved my life—but I know when she prefers to handle things on her own. And who am I to stand in the way of Pride itself, eh? Speaking of which, I hope you can set aside your own pride and seriously consider hiring at least one of these people. They are good souls, I assure you. I’ve spent enough time around those who aren’t to tell the difference.
Sahir Bali
Charismatic, resourceful, well-connected, and morally flexible, Sahir is, as I’ve mentioned, a master of networking and information brokering. His connections stretch across supernatural, criminal, and governmental sectors alike. He has an uncanny talent for maintaining relationships with an astonishing variety of contacts. Despite his many ties, he has none which personally bind him. While he’s worked with the Agency extensively, he’s never been formally employed by them, and he’s cautious about limiting himself by committing to any single organization. That’s where we could lure him to our side—we wouldn’t just tolerate his morally ambiguous connections, we’d capitalize on them.
Madeline Saturn
Fiercely independent, volatile, and deliciously distrustful of authority, Ms. Madeline Saturn is a force of nature. Born with the psychic ability to control gravity itself, she quickly attracted the attention of the Astoria 23rd Agency, who saw her as a dangerous anomaly and valuable asset. Her escape from the Lighthouse was nothing short of catastrophic. She made sure there was nothing left of the satellite facility holding her. Everything was crushed to a singular point. Since then, she’s been on the run, though I suspect the Agency now prefers to monitor her from afar, avoiding direct confrontation. She views herself as a survivor, shaped by unimaginable horrors at the hands of those who tried to control her. Perhaps I pity her—or perhaps I see myself in her. Either way, she needs guidance, nouvel ami. And we could provide it, no?
Marcus Douglas
Soft-spoken, thoughtful, and loyal to a fault, Marcus is an expert in light magic and spiritual guidance. I haven’t mentioned this before, but Marcus is the one who showed me the Light of la dame Lucifer. He helped me escape from the Zulus of Astoria. Like myself, he is a warlock devoted to Lucifer, though where my powers lean toward darker magics, his are purely of the Morningstar’s brightest light. His devotion is unwavering, and I’m certain he’d jump at the chance to join an organization spearheaded by la dame herself, eh? While he may not be as politically savvy as Sahir or as fiercely independent as Madeline, Marcus would offer a steady, quiet presence—someone you could always rely on—as I know I have.
