Shit.

Can I swear on this thing? I’ve never used the CaDCom in a… post-living state before. I guess I’m dead. Or something close to it. This doesn’t feel like limbo, though. And it’s not the Entity, either. Pretty sure this isn’t the Astral Plane. Wherever I am, it’s quiet—and something feels… off. Maybe I passed on? Princes aren’t supposed to be able to “pass on.” Unless this is what happens when we’re actually used as Keys. I don’t feel Dejection with me anymore, so I guess it’s over. And this is what’s left. Man, this sucks.

When I was alive, everyone thought I was lazy or slothful or whatever. I guess I was, a little. But really, I just liked taking everything in. I loved to watch, to observe. Everyone else liked to act—usually without bothering to look around first. I watched Satan leap before he looked so many times. Leviathan… he was so jealous of everything beyond his waters, I don’t think he ever stopped to see the beauty in his own Plane. Mammon admired things, sure—but only things he thought were worth admiring. Asmodeus? She’d stop to smell the roses now and then, but only one at a time, and so intensely that everything else wilted by comparison. Beelzebub at least tried to appreciate the small details with me, but he always ended up fixated on the bigger picture. And now? I can’t appreciate much of anything in this white void, can I?

There’s warmth here, though. Like… sunshine. It reminds me of Lucifer. Out of all of us, she could appreciate the little things best. Of everything, she loved humans the most. Always did. I’ve spent a lot of time watching humans… never really saw what she did in them. Maybe I just didn’t have time to see what she saw. I don’t think anyone realizes how exhausting it was to be me. Oh well.
