TOTAL: PAID IN FULL?

“I am a goddess, a glorious female warrior. Queen of all that I survey. Enemies of fairness and equality, hear my womanly roar.”

I freakin’ SLAYED that cat. I know, we don’t usually go for the whole “paid in full” thing but considering what 161 found out from the book club... Plus, we have no way of actually getting that cat back where it came from... So, eh, we decided it’d be best to just get ourselves a shiny aluminum shield and just go for it. Besides, mythologically speaking, Cath Palug is supposed to be slain, so we kind of figured no harm, no foul. If it should be dead, it might as well be dead, right? Well, that’s what we thought at first, but, uh anyway, it didn’t go that way. That cat did not die normal.

So first off, I think I get the whole aluminum thing now. Basically, whenever Cath Palug tried to strike at me, it ended up striking itself somehow. Not sure if aluminum foil would have worked as well, or maybe a big mirror, but I’m guessing “maybe?” It’s kind of hard to say, really. So, anyway, I held up the shield while Manager No. 3 made sure we had a backup plan to contain the beast if that didn’t work out. And Manager No. 7 was standing by trying to get her arm glowing thing to work. So, I am what one would call “bait” in this situation. But the shield really did the trick! After five or six swings at me, the cat kind of slayed itself, really. I mean, I drove the pointy bit of the shield in it to make sure it was dead-dead, and that’s when things got weird.

Cath Palug kind of just burst into a haze of pure energy, and Manager No. 7’s arm thingy started glowing again. She started levitating a few inches up in the air and started muttering some weird words. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get our CaDComs to pick it up because before we knew it, she was back down on the ground. Her arm mark thingy was still glowing, though, and it was hot to the touch. So I think the whole “7 is connected to the Otherworld” theory we’ve all been kicking around might just be true. Or, at the very least, somewhat true. What is the connection? No clue. Is Cath Palug dead? Who knows? Did I look freaking badass stabbing that monstrous cat with a shield? God, I hope so.
