Finally, it feels like we're actually doing something! Like I’m doing something. To be honest, with the way the world is right now, there hasn’t been much coffee for me to brew up, and it’s kinda made my job title feel a little… irrelevant. I mean, just about all of Long Beach is under Satan’s control, Protodemons have rocked the world, and we’ve had a cosmological shift that’s literally rearranged the Black Tide. It’s been… a lot.

As far as I know, Alfa and the other Indigos are figuring out how to sell this cup of coffee to the whole world—or, well, to a tiny part of the whole world. I guess it’s not that drastic. By their estimates, only about 2-3% of the global tourist population has caught onto the coffee game. That’s still, like, 250 million people, which is way more coffee than I or No. 2312 could ever dream of selling on our own. So, I guess we’ll just leave that to the bigwigs of the secret Flipside government to deal with. Worst case scenario, the Indigos have found 250 million potential new hires, right?

As for us, we’re heading straight into the belly of the beast—EDEN. Or BLACK EDEN. Whatever we’re calling that weird Black Tide/Eden hybrid place these days. It’s 90% a recon mission. We’re just going to get a feel for what Eve’s rotting utopia looks like, smells like, and—God willing—tastes like. But it’s also 10% a sneaky little opportunist’s mission. If I, or No. 161, see anything that looks… tempting… we’re gonna mess with it. Set a few fires in Eve’s backyard, maybe throw her off her game a bit. Oh, and speaking of sneaky opportunists… No. 3 has a long history of stealing things from important places, and honestly, that’s worked out pretty well for us before.

…Well, y’know, aside from the couple of deaths. And our Cafe burning down. And—well, look, you’ve gotta crack a few dozen crow eggs if you want to make a jug of hearty fight milk.
