"Who are you? …What are you?" Eve said, her hands shaking as she clutched the notebook tightly.

"Me? Oh, just another Archon to defect. Same as you three," the strange man said. Eve strained her eyes to make out the mysterious Archon's face, though she could not tell what he looked like beneath his large featureless mask.

"Another Archon? From Entropy?" Eve asked, trying to hold back her growing panic.

"Where else, my dear? You three aren't the only ones who are growing tired of Kaos' unending war. There are others who seek a new way of being. A new Universe to shape and mold. I want to help you, Eve. I want to help you create her. Your muse."

"My muse…? How?"

"We can't talk here. It isn't safe. We need to go somewhere he cannot follow. We need to go somewhere… between."

"I—I can't leave Eden. He wouldn't—"

"No. He wouldn't, would he? But…" The mysterious Archon waved his hand and behind Eve a small house appeared on one of the many dandelion covered fields. The house wafted against the garden with an eerie black smoke and looked like it had been torn straight from the pages of a nightmare. Its teal walls were worn and rotting, its roof caved in, its windows cracked, and its large intricate door hanging loosely by a single hinge. Eve could not take her eyes off of the door made entirely of black stained wood engraved with a delicate web-like pattern. With a snap of the Archon's fingers the door swung open. Eve swallowed hard. She felt her heart pounding in her ears, and she felt like she could no longer breathe.

"Welcome to our home away from home, my dear. I can show you how to take a piece of your Utopia with you. Wherever you go. I can show you how to create a new garden. A better garden. I can show you how to create life. Life unlike any that has ever been seen before, and never will be seen again. I can teach you how to be free," the masked figure said.

"But… How can I trust you? I don't even know your name."

"Ah. My apologies, Eve. I am Adam. Come, our former lord's petulant son cannot spy on us within the house. We have much to discuss—but more importantly, I wish to know you better."
