Puzzle

"Vetoed Alpanuics.”
Knowldg | 2 Wods

Clue

Hover over the clues if you require!
Clue 1: Yes, you read that right. There are certain letters missing from the puzzle (and the words 'Knowledge' and 'Words'), I suppose. What word is 'Alpanuics' supposed to be?
Clue 2: Alpa-nuics. Note that there's a missing syllable in-between 'nu' and 'ics'.
Clue 3: Compare the word 'Alphanumerics' to 'Alpanuics'. What letters are missing? Combine them with 'Vetoed'.

Answer and Explanation

Answer: The Removed
Explanation: The word 'Alpanuics' is actually supposed to be 'Alphanumerics', with the letters R, H, M and E removed. Combining those four letters with 'Vetoed' and anagramming it gives 'The Removed'.

Been 'avin’ a think lately. Dangerous—no two ways about it. An’ I know I’m still on probation. Can’t expect one decent chinwag with a customer to change that. Wouldn’t ask it to neither. But… Remember 'ow I wanted to send a message to all of you? I ‘ad it all backwards. We need to be sendin’ a message to Umbra and all 'is pathetic Dark, choice? I reckon we could even send over the same message I tried to send to all of you. Sans Blight Flame, ‘course. I know better than to muck about with that again, even if we’re Browning’s best on paper. No need to play Wicked games, eh?

Let’s remove the Remover. Blimey—some may even say it might be our destiny to do so. ‘Course, I won’t even start dreamin’ up the 'ow, when, an’ where without Payroll’s say-so. But I will argue my case if you’d let me. Unlike the bleat mucker, the Remover, Destiny (…or is she tryin’ to do a play on “Destiny Remover?” wasn’t clear) is definitely a bad person, er, bad demon, as it were. Well, she was a bad enough apple in life to 'ave 'er soul sent over to Lord Satan to be one of 'is toy soldiers.

Umbra and the rest of the Dark reckon we’re a bunch of hapless mugs who bumble into 'elpin’ 'em with their day-to-day. Now, 'ow true that is, I feel, is up for debate. I don’t believe the Mothman was really lookin’ to undo 'is disasters, and I bet Umbra 'ad further plans for the Locket but figured the mind games were worth more than the trinket was. Regardless, we need to show 'em that we can give 'em a right kick where it 'urts. But, if it ain’t safe enough, or morally good enough, or… I dunno; if we’d rather chuck Destiny back into the ‘auntaurskald, that’s fine by me. We’ll need to remove her one way or the other.
