I have good news and bad news! The good news is I think Payroll's Tarot deck worked for me! It's not as clear as using a flame was, but I definitely got a strong sense of the threads of Fate from them. And! Because I'm scrying in a way that won't alert the Wicked… I don't think Fate has altered these threads… which may be bad news after all. Here are the cards I drew and how I interpreted them:
Bondage, materialistic pursuits, overindulgence… a powerful malevolent force. Considering our… umh… "unique" circumstances, this may be a very literal read. The Devil. Three to Become One. But I think the cards are trying to warn of something else… not THE Devil. But, more so, A devil. A demon. A powerful demon…
Disaster. Ruinous, horrible, unrelenting disaster. Upheaval, chaos, destruction… the breakdown of established structures… A bridge collapsing. The Keys sinking down to the bottom of the ocean. It… must be the Mothman. The High Demon of Disasters. I… can't see any other meaning. He worked with Umbra and Aka before, right? I fear their Dark Triad has once again been formed together.
…Mm… conflict. Tension. The aftermath of a battle where a hollow victory is the only one that rings true. A win… but at a cost. A cost so steep it threatens to tear our very fabric apart. Personal interests outweigh the Cafe's well-being. Fragmentation. Separation… nothing good.
So! I'm excited I got it to work! …I just wish the cards drawn weren't the three we got. I mean, the Tower? That's the worst you can get, really. What was strange, though, was that our future felt detached from our past and present. I guess that might be normal. It isn't how it feels with the flames, though. It feels like this future is almost like a separate thread of Fate. Which, I'm hoping, means it can be avoided! I'd hate for us to split up.
Peace, love, and Joy!
