I must say, I’m… nervouscited for our trip to the Necropolis. I always think is so neat to explore the Otherside! Of course… It’s a little less neat when the region you’re headed to is an active war zone, right? Yikes. And just so no one yells at me or No. 4, we both tried to talk No. 5 out of this trip. Seriously, the last thing we need is to poke a hornet’s nest—a hornet’s nest full of angry, bitter shadowfolk being led by some mysterious despot. Which, yeah, I guess I should probably just explain the situation to our current knowledge in case anyone is not quite sure what’s going on.
So… to be fair, we really don’t know that much about the whole war in the Necropolis. It is from our understanding… one-part prophecy, one-part tensions bubbling over. As much as any one person can claim they know how the Necropolis—or the Amaymon by its proper name—came about as a plane of the Otherside, no one knows for certain, yeah? And like, the Amaymon certainly seems to be built on top of the Everdark Pits, where the Shadowfolk reside. The Shadowfolk have felt majorly oppressed by the Amaymonian Demons and their queen, Asmodeus, for eons and have always sort of been on the verge of attacking the Amaymon. They haven’t so far as they’ve been waiting for their prophesized leader, the Morbid King, to return once more to the Sunken Throne.
And, as you’ve guessed, the Morbid King seems to be back. He returned right around when we, well, No. 5, destroyed the First Bible. Is it our, or No. 5’s, fault? Ma…y…be… But, like it could totally be unrelated! No. 5 doesn’t think it is though, and that’s why he’s so keen on seeing what the situation is like there. He feels like he is obligated to fix this mess somehow—which I think is personally way above his pay grade. Even if we somehow brought about the return of the Morbid King, we didn’t cause the eons of oppression and segregation of the Shadowfolk. I think a war would’ve broken out one way or another eventually. Oh well, we can at least see what’s happening there, yeah?
Peace, Love, and Joy!
