"Where's the Zeus who used to turn into a cow and pick up chicks?" "He grew up. Maybe you should, too."
Well, the Espresso Affairs are off to a roaring start! I was hoping to figure out where the End is, what the End is, how to get there, where the other Antekeys are, what exactly the Otherworld is, and how it got here… I'll still take what we've learned so far as a success. So, Daedalus, the demon, figured that the Otherworld is either ancient planes that were sealed away and are only now coming back OR the construct of someone powerful enough to bring entire planes of existence to life. I am personally leaning towards the latter. Why? Because it seems like these myths are very… well… storybook. And that fact that we're trying to get to the End… well, it screams "this is a story someone else is telling."
Of course, these planes could totally have been around for a long time. In fact, we have good evidence that the planes have been around since at least 1988. However, that just means that these planes have been around since the start of THIS universe. Daedalus mentioned that this could be the work of a Cold Elder, and I think we're all thinking the same thing, right? Fate. THE FATE. The biggest and baddest of the big and the bad. The entity we have an ENTIRE secret rule dedicated to not talking about. Well, I figure it's fine between the four of us, right? Would this even be in the realm of Fate's powers? I don't know because we're not supposed to talk about Fate, and the only ones who know anything about Fate outside of this group and the Managers are Jenny and Rachel. And Jenny… well, she knows the rough concepts of Fate, but she doesn't know much beyond that. Rachel knows Fate intimately though she keeps it all to herself.
So, with that said, I only know the broad strokes of who Fate is, what Fate is, and what Fate can do. I also only know the vaguest idea of what Fate wants. Fate wants to control "the 8" to… be Fate. Right? No clue what "the 8" is beyond each of the Managers (excluding No. 2) has a piece of it. Doubt any of you are going to tell me. But could this all be an elaborate trap designed by Fate to get the 8? So far, we've had Miss. Bad speaking in an eerily similar fashion to Fate.
"Yet, do not blame your kin' n youth,
for the man in gold cuffs knows the truth.
He seeks a prize in and at The End,
my advice would be to trust your friends."
So... from that, Mammon knows the truth. Right? And Mammon wants something "in and at The End." Okay. So, has Mammon been working with Fate? I mean, yes, spoiler alert, our new owner is absolutely not to be trusted. Though it's the last line that really confuses me. Trust our friends. Which friends? Allies? Or "friends." And in that case, isn't Mammon our closest friend right now? And if the Otherworld isn't the creation of Fate itself, then who else had the power to do something like this? I'd love for some input from you 8. I know Julia and I are supposed to be piecing this together, but there HAS to be something you know that we don't. You always know something we don't.
