RECEIPT #004
DATE: 6/6/96
EMPLOYEE #44

How could she be so STUPID!? Seriously, how? I can’t believe she would—well, no, I can believe she would, but… Jesus, #1313, seriously? Did you honestly believe you could outplay Mrs. Aka? After everything that happened? After Xavier? After Sofia? Did you really think you were special? No… you probably felt like you owed it to them, huh? Well, you know what I think? I think you need to stop ruining your life for everyone else’s sake. You can’t save everyone. You can’t fix everything. Your suffering won’t magically make everyone else’s less.

Still, this was… this was more than just stupid. On our birthday? I mean… What could have clouded your judgment ***that*** much? I—well, actually. Hm… You know, it almost reminds me of what happened to #17 when he trashed the Cafe No Diner’s location. It’s not out of character for him to go to any length to make a connection, but to go that extra step to burn their physical files… That was some seriously clouded judgment. He was completely overcome with envy over a connection they had that he didn’t have.

Now, #1313’s judgment was clouded past a breaking point. Again, I wouldn’t say it’s out of character for #1313 to throw herself on a pyre to right some petty wrong. But to go that extra step of blowing off our birthday plans and not bothering to at least let us in on her suicide mission? That was a step further than I think she normally would have gone. Moreover, I think I know how I can confirm my hypothesis… but should my hypothesis be incorrect… I’m going to have to admit that this was a new low for you, #1313. Seriously.
