This has undoubtedly been a mess and a half to clean up. Well, actually, it is nice that the stuff just turns to water after a while. There’s a slim chance that a few buckets ended up in air-tight containers somehow and have resisted aquafication… but it’s unlikely. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself! I suppose if there is enough of this stuff still around once we shut down the storms for good, I can do some door-to-door miracle-scams to delegitimize them. Or, more likely, tourists will break the seal to get a better look and be dumbfounded 30 minutes later.
As for the main propaganda piece: Algae. It’s always algae when something weird shows up in a water-like form. This particular alga was picked up off of some nearby trees, got into the water cycle, and will now cause somewhat heavy red-colored rain for… who knows how long. It’s got to work its way out of the water cycle, right? The good news for the tourists is that it quickly turns into regular, good old-fashioned American water within minutes. It won’t stain, and it’s nothing to be worried about. Science!
…Though… actually, I’m not entirely convinced that it’s harmless. I really like Medium’s theory that Padre is just making it rain to flush out unwanted competition. It seems… logical. At least. And this storm started after his BBMF, Pleasant, got his wing ripped right off. It makes me think there’s someone in the CND who’s less-than-human and would potentially get seared by this sudden downpour. Medium’s convinced that it doesn’t actually kill demons. Just makes their time in Pandemonium exponentially suckier. However, maybe Padre is just trying to figure out who is and isn’t what they seem to be. It must be a pretty good glamor if he can’t see through it.
