RECEIPT #003
DATE: 4/24/96
EMPLOYEE #1313

So, I’ve been thinking lately… I’d really like to go talk to S.V. I mean, I haven’t really spoken to her since… well, you all know. I did reach out after it happened, though she wasn’t really in the mood to talk at the time. I guess, in hindsight, maybe she was told not to talk to me? I’m sorta worried that the Cafe No Diner has told her that Xavier’s death was somehow my fault. Though I think if that was the case, I’d be her anathema and not Mrs. Aka.

Of course, I’m not just gonna go spill the coffee or whatever with a potential, what’s the term, friend(?) of the Cafe. But you know, maybe it might be a good way to either offer an olive branch or at least look like we’re trying to. At some point, we’re gonna have to have some sort of contact with the Cafe No Diner, right? And this seems like a pretty natural way to start it. If anything, we don’t even have to talk about the coffee business… we can just sorta… I don’t know, catch up? It’ll be Xavier’s birthday in like a month, and regardless of all of… you know, “this,” I want to make sure she’s okay.

I know it’s up to the Owner and whatever, but I’m just saying—if I can’t go check in with my dead ex’s sister, this Cafe stuff might not be for me, you know? Of course, I wouldn’t leave Red or my Dorky Double behind, but I guess I’ve already decided what I’m gonna do, and how the Owner decides to deal with it is entirely on him. Regardless, I’ll keep our cards close to my chest. To be entirely honest, I don’t want the Cafe No Diner to pay Mrs. Aka’s tab in full. I want to be the one to have that pleasure.
