Summary of Receipt

The Espresso Affairs - run by Employees 71 and 53 - have begun. Well, sort of; it's supposed to investigate Manager 7's Otherworldly connection but they haven't actually talked to her about it. In any case, 71 went to one of the shrines of Miss. Satsuki, aka Princess Takiyasha, Witch of the Nightmarch, to just...ask for her. It worked. Anyway, Nightmarch doesn't actually have a proper name, since it's just a roving parade. Satsuki also mentioned that sigils do exist that can send Otherworldly Myths back, which is what Satsuki was trying to do to Mizuki. However, it didn't work, since the 'Gashadokuro' was just some guys pretending to be one. This, by the way, also confirms that the Otherworld has its own 'history' while only existing for a few short months. Its inhabitants, however, seem to 'remember' before that - and we know those memories, since those lives are lifted directly from myths. Or perhaps vice-versa.

“Why should I be concerned about gaining weight? My body is just the vehicle that carries my brain around - and my brain deserves a smooth, luxurious ride.”

And so, it begins… The ESPRESSO AFFAIRS. Sort of. It’s a soft launch. I still need to actually sit down and go over things with Julia and what not. Also, I need Nick and 8 to actually… you know… explain to me what exactly I’m looking for. They just said, “Hey Victoria, you’ve got some cool magic powers and we think they might help Julia in figuring out her Otherworld connection.” So. Not much to go off of just yet. Though I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to snoop around Japan when there’s a giant skeleton monster lurking around!

Oh, and there’s a lady who rides on a toad. Yep. Yep, yep, yep. Princess Takiyasha the Witch of the Nightmarch. Amber picked a pretty good name. Apparently, their plane of the Otherworld doesn’t have an official name as it’s just a parade of 1,000 yokai or something like that. Who, by the by, I was able to get a hold of. See, Jenni, and Jules are going about this all wrong. You gotta think like the locals do. Sure, you can wait out in the ruins of a power station waiting for Takiyasha to show up, or you can go to one of the many shrines in Japan and just ask for her.

Of course, she didn’t say much to me other than confirming that she’s from a realm with an endless festival which circles her castle/tower/thing. Oh! And there are sigils, sort of like the Otherside has, which can be used to send Myths back without Julia’s magic touch. In fact, that’s what Takiyasha came here to do, send the Gashadokuro back to Nightmarch. But… she grabbed the wrong sigil. Turns out Amber is once again right (scary how often that is) and that is no Gashadokuro, just a bunch of guys pretending to be one. However, this is another example where the Otherworld seems to have its own pre-history. I mean, it’s an entirely new phenomenon that has only existed for a few months, but the inhabitants seem to have memories and lives spanning much longer. Not only that, BUT WE ALSO know those lives already. They’re literally living Myths pulled from actual mythology. Or… is it the other way around?
