RECEIPT #007
DATE: 3/25/96
EMPLOYEE #17

I believe it is time to settle this tab… and open another. If we assume that #35 and #44 did, in fact, stumble upon the truth, no matter how unpalatable it may be, we know at least now know what Augustine’s end goal is. However, it is a bitter and black cup of Nicaraguan coffee I fear I am unfit to sell. Connections I can make and leverage. However, the toys and terrors of the late Dr. Crow are well beyond my area of expertise. So, I am leaving this up to #62, and perhaps young #44 can aid her as well.

There is still the matter of how Augustine came to be acquainted with Mrs. Umbra and Mrs. Aka, but that, too, is probably better served under its own receipts—not that I feel it is as pressing. I would tend to agree with Solomon that Mrs. Umbra and Mrs. Aka are either faking their ties to Augustine or, at the very least, exaggerating them. Something that stuck out to me in #44 and #35’s transcript is that Mrs. Umbra had to “take the wheel” for Augustine to delve into #35’s mind, so to speak. I feel that might just be all the evidence we need to see through their ruse.

This does not mean we should underestimate or otherwise ignore the Dark Triad, Augustine, or Abigail. No, it simply means their connections are tightly woven at the moment, and where one of them acts, we must assume they act as one. While I would have entertained the idea that the Dark Triad had their own aspirations… the connections simply aren’t there at the moment. And, if they are truly operating in such unison, we should continue to focus the majority of our efforts on their leader, their boss, and their heavenly and hellish father—Padre Santos.
