Puzzle

“They don’t bother drawing attention themselves, they just lose their frowns, or their names, or faces, and then they scream it with me now.”
323 Trivia | 3 Words

Clue

Hover over the clues if you require!
Clue 1: 323 can be found nodding along to the latest tunes.
Clue 2: The first part... don't bother to not bother. It's quite the album.
Clue 3: The second part is the lyrics. What are they screaming?

Answer and Explanation

Answer: Rushing Neon Death
Explanation: Drawing Attention to Themselves is a Yves Klein Blue album, which contains the song Polka. The song contains the lyrics:
"So if you want to lose your frown,
or your name, or even your face,
lick up a dream that seemingly screams with rushing neon death."

Summary of Receipt

The Pool Ball displayed one final message before the die submerged entirely: ‘Letters to numbers a number to a letter/Of blood we seep and blood you seek./What it is, is, and thus sera sera./Twice as bad as she may seem.’, and then the die submerged and couldn’t be coaxed out. However, putting the ball next to the Amulet (the jewelry they stole) makes the ball spin around for whatever reason. Also, before 323 realised it wasn't a regular 8-ball, it had just been giving regular answers until the 13th when it said 'It's Friday', then it had continued to respond but with weird symbols.

CAFE AND DINER RECEIPT FROM 10/25/17
MANAGER 323
RECEIPT: ALLSIGNSPOINTTOWARDS02
STATUS: OPEN
I decided to take the Pool Ball out of the vault to see if I could get it to respond again. That and 134 needed to look at the amulet, so I figured I might as well give it another shake while we were there. I tried a couple of questions and still couldn't get a response. However, when I stopped shaking it/asking it questions, the die did resurface briefly. Although this die looked like it was different? Like, well, it's hard to see because of how dark the liquid it's submerged in is, but I think the color was different? The die used to be metallic grey, but it looked darker now, and the letters were green? Maybe? Or it could have been a trick of the light in the vault. Anyway, this is what the die read, more or less.

First rotation: "Letters to numbers the number to a letter."

Second rotation: "Of blood we seep and blood you seek.”

Third rotation: "What it is, is, and thus sera sera."

Last rotation: "Twice as bad as she may seem."

Then the dice spun around again before showing "Goodbye." So I'm not sure what to make of any of that, to be honest. Another interesting, uh, feature? The Pool Ball, when placed next to the Temple Amulet, makes the die resurface and spin around, but it won't land on a phrase or anything. Just spin. 62 has confirmed it's not magnetic or anything. So maybe the Pool Ball is connected to the Temple? Though... I don't know if that really makes sense. Or, uh, I guess it doesn't fit with their whole "theme." They have a sort of serious cult thing going on, and this is a plastic pool ball. A peculiar plastic pool ball.

I guess I should also try and add in some of the other stuff it's "said" to me before I started officially documenting it. I just hadn't thought to yet because it started out pretty normal. It had the basic responses "Outlook not so good," "Ask again later," "It is certain," etc., etc. But then, around the 13th, I saw a new message, "It's Friday," which is obviously about Mrs. Weekend. I kind of thought that I had just dreamed that, that had happened. But then, the next day, it started to respond with symbols. When I did the math and realized that this die couldn't have that many faces, I took it to * to look at. I don't totally remember what symbols were shown when it was rotating, but if it does that again, I'll be sure to write it down.
