HORRORS CASE NO. 4
I read R.R.’s account of how our dreams seem to differ. That is strange, isn’t it? Though, I suppose if “Shamu” was a passive actor in my dreams, I wouldn’t get a bad vibe from him either. I suppose that is the tricky part when letting our dreams guide us. We are so susceptible to our own subconscious influences. And I can’t tell if I would be more susceptible due to my lack of experience… or, perhaps, less? I bring no preconceived notions of how strong our coffee should be made, so I might be less likely to water it down.
Actually, I haven’t had any nightmares since the whole ice bath fiasco. And we can’t discount the outside influence my dreams clearly had. To even call them my dreams might be a stretch. So, can we trust this shadowy figure or not? On the one hand, that mystery customer nearly drove me to the brink of madness. On the other hand, I feel like I shared a deep connection with this customer. And through this strange connection, I could truly feel their emotions, most of which were fear. Mr. Unknown was, and is, terrified of what Shamu is planning to do.
Then again, that is just one unverifiable perspective, so take it with a grain of salt. Or a splash of creamer. Whichever sounds more thematic to the Cafe. My main concern is that if we fail to treat Shamu as a threat, we may become complacent, leading to our demise. Shamu, he’s one of the Big Bads of the coffee trade, right? Of course, I’m not saying we should run in blind—but there is that common thread between R.R. and I’s dreams… Shamu is hiding something beneath his waves.
