Summary of Receipt

Mrs. Felt seems to be stealing items for a Halloween ritual, gathering crow hearts, witches’ ladders, and athames. It’s likely they’re trying to resurrect Dr. Crow, or perhaps bring his Otherside ghost/demon form into the Flipside. 62 asks 17 and 44 to come over and help her out for a while if it doesn’t interfere with investigating Mr. Walker, since if the Hotbed gets even worse, the ensuing chaos will probably flood the entire east coast of the USA.

It seems like the Melonheads are preparing some sort of Halloween ritual. I'm not sure, but their attacks have turned less toward senseless violence and more toward gathering items. Various friends and family of the coffee trade in the area have reported break-ins. So far, the most commonly stolen item has been crow hearts, witch ladders, and athames. It's pretty clear that whatever they're planning to do involves Dr. Crow somehow. I don't know what it is yet. Occam's Razor is telling me they're probably going to try and resurrect Dr. Crow somehow… though that seems a bit above what Melonheads should be able to do.

Unless… Unless they're not trying to resurrect Dr. Crow, they might be trying to bring the demon of Dr. Crow Flipside. That could be trouble. That could be big trouble. I saw that #17 and #44 are somewhat nearby, and I think I could use all the help I can get here. I'm sure #17 can rally our nearby friends and family into helping, and #44 seems to have a good eye for figuring things out. Maybe he can piece together the specifics of this Halloween ritual. Plus, it'd be good for the kid to get some more field experience. Research is essential, but customer interaction is necessary for this line of work.

Of course, I understand that Mr. Walker takes priority for them. They have a window from the 24th to the 7th, right? If things boil over here, it might be good to have them pop over and help anyway and then get back to Mr. Walker before the 7th. If this Hotbed heats up anymore, they won't really have a choice in the matter, as I assume the bedlam will spread out to the eastern coast. Stopping the Melonheads won't regain control of the Hotbed but stopping Dr. Crow from coming back as a demon has to be a net positive.
