C.C. Trivia | 5 Words

Clue

Hover over the clues if you require!
Clue 1: Yen is Japanese. A very famous Japanese surreal horror manga artist.
Clue 2: What do you sow in fields?
Clue 3: Seeds that 'hatch' girls, sold for 50,000 yen. What story is this?

Answer and Explanation

Answer: The Basin Of The Waterfall
Explanation: The use of 'yen' suggests a Japanese horror creator; one of Junji Ito's stories, The Basin of the Waterfall, contains seeds sold for 50,000 yen that, when planted, are said to turn into girls (hence the 'field full of girls').

SHADOWY NIGHTMARES CASE NO. 6
I think it was successful? I don’t remember much, but it looks like the CaDCom was able to transcribe things. I’d say more, but I think I’m going to get some rest. Hopefully shadow-free.

S.O.T

J.L.: Are you ready, [C.C.]?

C.C.: As ready as I can ever be. Is my CaDCom recording or whatever it needs to do?

O.L.: Yes. The transcription feature is working.

C.C.: Okay. Well. Here I go.

[C.C. slipped carefully into the bathtub filled with ice water.]

J.L.: [C.C.]…?

C.C.: This… sucks… Well… looks like it’s not— NO! AHHH!

J.L.: [C.C.]!

O.L.: That’s strange. She’s still awake?

J.L.: What do you mean?

O.L.: I would have assumed she’d fall into sleep during these episodes. Hm… Oh, wait, the shadows.

J.L.: Shadows?

O.L.: Look, the shadows in the room have grown thicker.

J.L.: Have they?

O.L.: Hold her above the water. She’s about to fall asleep.

[C.C.’s screams stopped as she fell limp. J.L. quickly hoisted her above the water. As C.C.’s eyes opened, they were now pitch black.]

J.L.: Ah!

O.L.: Who are you?

C.C.: A shadow…

O.L.: Your name?

C.C.: Lost to time…

O.L.: Mm. Why have you been terrorizing her dreams, shadow?

C.C.: A… warning…

O.L.: Go on.

C.C.: He seeks to part the Tide… his unearthly horrors bringing endless elders to the shore… a fate so pale and cold… all will die…

O.L.: Name him, shadow.

C.C.: Leviathan, Prince of Envy, the simulacrum of the Infinite Ocean of Mayda, keeper of the Black Tide.

O.L.: Why would—

C.C.: Help… Us… AUGHHhhh…

[The black in C.C.’s eyes drained out in thick black tears. The shadows in the room returned to normal.]

C.C.: Wha—

J.L.: [C.C.]! How do you feel? Are you okay?

C.C.: Yeah… just a headache. And I’m freezing.

J.L.: Oh, yeah, let’s get you out of the water.

C.C.: Did it… did I…?

O.L.: It seems like a shadow was controlling you, trying to convey a warning about Leviathan.

C.C.: The… sea serpent?

O.L.: In a sense, yes.

J.L.: What should we do, [O.L.]?

O.L.: Hm… well, the Cafe always tries to help, at the very least.
