Explanation: In C-WITW04, 422 finds the WITW situation “very silly".
Summary of Receipt
Turns out it wasn’t a scam. Mr. Toad just drove a car into his home and destroyed it. Nobody (the person) did steal the deed to Toad Hall, but Toad managed to buy it back, at the cost of his savings. 224, 422 and 161 decides to stay in Avalon and go searching for treasure to pass to Toad.

im not sure what is going on anymore tbh. but in all fairness 224 was right... mr toad the book character was asking him for money. i still think thats kinda scummy especially considering what caused toad hall to fall into disrepair and stuff. but oh well. i still dont know how mr toad got in contact with 224 but im chalking that up to some amphibian secret knowledge stuff. that, or, the cafe and diner is kinda well known in avalon at this point. so maybe hes an archive fan. who wouldnt be an archive fan tbh?? in anycase the three of us are sticking around a bit longer in avalon to take care of some bloody war biz or whatev. we also gotta stop this nobody guy from taking a crown ig. i dunno. 422 is a cool dude and all but would it really kill him to just tell me what hes thinking???

Mr. Toad: My, my! If it isn’t my dearest cousin Loveland! It is splendid to see you and your guests! I would invite you inside but as you can see my home is in utter shambles!
224: You see, you see, I told you so.
161: Huh. Yeah. Okay. Well, that is… Mr. Toad.
224: And you see, you see, the most beautiful house on the water? In shambles!
Mr. Toad: Why yes! It was the most beautiful house, wasn’t it? Ah, but that fiendish Nobody really made a mess of the place.
422: No kidding. This Nobody even went ssso far asss to crasssh a car through your wall.
Mr. Toad: Well, uh, yes.
422: Tell me, Toady, did you do all thisss damage yourssself?
Mr. Toad: I beg your pardon! Of course not, you snake! Though… I must admit the automobile accident perhaps could have been my own fault. But the rest of this damage was done by Nobody, I assure you that!
161: So who did it then?
Mr. Toad: Nobody! Is that not clear?
161: Oh, Nobody. Righhht. Right. Can we see this Nobody?
Mr. Toad: Good luck. By this light, I doubt anyone could see Nobody.
161: Huh?
422: Ah, I sssee. I figured asss much, actually. [No. 161], you have to underssstand, these Mythsss abide by a very… “predetermined” ssstructure. Ssso, Toady, thingsss have been rough around here lately?
Mr. Toad: Why yes, yes they have! Those rowdy neighbours of ours over the hedge have been really going at it.
422: Fighting for a crown, perhapsss?
Mr. Toad: Exactly it! You’ve got it! Fighting, fighting, fighting, all day. I have no stomach for it.
422: Mm hm… and amongssst the fighting, Nobody came and sssnatched away the deed to Toad Hall?
Mr. Toad: Yes! I would’ve stopped the fiend if I wasn’t recovering from-
422: Your crasssh. I sssee. Well, our job isss done. Good luck with the repairsss.
224: But [422]! We cannot, we simply cannot, leave yet! Toad Hall is still in ruin, and Nobody still has the deed!
Mr. Toad: Oh, actually not Nobody, somebody has it. Me. I repurchased it from the lad and sent him on his way. You see, it is why I have found myself without sufficient funds to repair the damages.
161: That was caused mainly by… you. I’m with [422]. Let’s cheese it.
422: Ah… you misssunderssstood me. We are done here, yesss, but we are needed elsssewhere. Nobody will stop Nobody on their own. And if Nobody were to sssnatch the crown then nobody would be able to ssstop them.
161: Is that really our job? And is Nobody... really a person?
422: No and maybe. But I don’t feel like going back to the Cafe jussst yet. Too much noissse.
161: Ah, okay. Well, what about you [224]?
224: Will there be, well, you know, treasure and rewards?
422: Perhapsss.
224: Then yes! Yes, I will help, because, and this is a very good plan, we can give the treasure to Mr. Toad so he can rebuild his house!
