MR. HERRICK CASE NO. 3

Well, I can’t say A.I. doesn’t have “unique” ideas. We’ve come up with quite a few possible ways to catch our lucky bunny, but the “practicality” of them is another issue entirely. I suppose we’ve been thrust into this supernatural world, so I guess it’s hard to say what would or wouldn’t work. I’ll list our ideas here, and maybe O.L. can weigh in on how feasible any of them might be. We’ve considered Karmic Loops, Time-Sensitive Traps, Neutralizing Magic, and Luck Transference.

So, first up, Karmic Loops, as A.I. calls them. Essentially, she wants to find a way for us to borrow our own luck from the future, temporarily giving us more luck than the Jackalope has, letting us catch it. Off the top of my head, time travel seems a bit… out there. But even if we could borrow our own luck from the future, it creates a KARMIC loop, right? So, we’d have to be extremely unlucky for who knows how long afterward. Another possible option is a Time-Sensitive Trap. This would rely pretty heavily on the Jackalope’s luck powers waxing and waning, and we just happen to find the right time to trap it. We could also use some sort of Neutralizing Magic… though none of us know magic. Well, maybe O.L. does? That’d be useful! On the same train of thought, maybe there’s a spell where we could transfer the luck of the Jackalope into us temporarily?

While they are creative ideas, they all rely a bit too much on “what-ifs” and “maybes.” I have two slightly more grounded ideas myself. 1) We ask Paul to borrow two Jackalopes. Simple luck math, right? 2 > 1. Though, I suspect Paul only has one Jackalope, or he would’ve already tried that, right? So… what if we just try to earn the Jackalope’s trust? It’s an animal, right? Sure, it’s way too lucky to trap, but maybe we could have it come with us willingly?
