Summary of Receipt

Manager 4 explains that Cheesman’s weirdness was due to them being from the Mayda-Esterskald Cusp, as well as them being able to shift into an Achegloom shift sometimes…somehow, likely due to Bartlett. That’s the next thing that they’ll have to investigate.

Got the little guys home. I can see why the extra assistance was needed. No. 35 and 53 had done a good job keeping the Demon Flyers trapped in a pit trap with lights at the top. Demon Flyers are photophobic due to their home plane of the Mayda-Esterskald Cusp. I'm not sure what that region is called or if it has a name, but I know it is a very bleak place. Anything south of The Hollow tends to be fairly dark as you approach the Everdark Pits. This is why the Demon Flyers have bioluminescence—both to provide a source of light for themselves and to attract and disorient their prey. So you can control/herd them via light to an extent.

Normally, it would be a pretty simple task of using directional light to corral them back into the Otherside. However, due to their strange new Achegloom powers, they seem less perturbed by light and can even draw a certain degree of strength from it. Of course, their Achegloom state would only occur for a few seconds every few minutes. However, they have been in the Flipside for roughly a week or two absorbing light and have since spent the better part of three days absorbing light nonstop. Which led to a slight problem in that they had almost reached an uncontrollable state.

Luckily No. 3 had been looking into where the Cusp Line was, and I was able to lead them to it. Some minor scratches and burns were sustained, but nothing major. However, if we had let the Demon Flyers continue absorbing light, they could have easily escalated into a Miss. level case. Good we got that taken care of. Now we need to figure out why they were able to shift into an Achegloom state in the first place. As I understand it, it has something to do with "Mr. Bartlett," also known as the Dover Lights. I'll leave that to baristas already working on it. I've got problems that need to be sorted out back home. I'll let No. 35 tab this case out officially, though.

That’s all.
