He mentions that it almost looks as good as it used to before the Shadow War (the clash between the Necropolis and the Morbid King), and that it was very frightening the last time he visited. In fact, he almost died, but then got saved by Miss. Guile and recruited to her hotel.

Wow! Simply wow! It has been a very long time since I was last in the Necropolis! So much has changed since Nikki took over! You know, and this is a very tightly held secret of mine, so please do not share it too widely, but you know, I used to come to the Necropolis quite often. Yes! It is true! Most Maydaian demons are somewhat, well, they are somewhat reliant on water to stay alive. However, I am basically just a regular human, and as such, I have good strong lungs that breathe air. And this might be the surprising part, there is no boundary between Mayda and the Necropolis. They just sort of, well, you see, they sort of flow into each other. So, I have been here many times while out exploring!
I must say, Nikki has done a very good job at ruling the Necropolis! Yes, everyone seems pretty happy! At least as happy as the dead usually are. The Necropolis almost looks like it did before the “Shadow War” started. I visited the Necropolis ONCE during the Shadow War, and it was NOT good. It was, and I mean this, it was quite frightening!! I almost DIED! Okay, but I did not die, no, I was rescued by a friendly man who told me I could work for him at his hotel! And then I did work for him at his hotel, and then NIKKI showed up!! I was so excited, but she did not recognize me because of the hotel’s magic. Anyway, then I started working for the Cafe and Diner and again and it has been quite good.
Now we get to visit Nikki again, and I hope that she recognizes me. I am wearing the very special overalls that she made for me, and I have brought a very special card for her that says, and this is what it says, it says: we love you and miss you and are proud of you!! I hope this Shadow War ends soon because I would very much like Nikki to be able to come back to work at the Cafe and Diner. I suppose she probably can’t become a human again, but that is okay. The Florida Cafe already has many demons. Not me, though, I am a regular human boy, but the snake, he is a demon.
