‘Umbra’ shows up at Satan’s service, talking about ‘now she bears the cursed name of Fate, with her touch she’ll break the gate, with the daggers deep in hearts, soon we approach our final start’. 2312 suspects the Daggers, or the Obscure Obelus Order, aren’t actually involved in this, despite their apocalyptic tendencies. Also, another thing to note is that it’s ‘our final start’, not ‘a brand new start’. Which is incredibly concerning. Anyway, the plan is still to use the 13 stones in the Garden of the Archons in the Necropolis before July 8th, when Satan plans to have his ritual. 2312’s confused as to how Satan and the Morbid King’s plans seem to help each other, since they’re clearly allied.

If there were any doubts left as to whether Padre is in cahoots with Umbra and the Morbid King, this week’s service has put them to rest. Not only was “Umbra” present for this mass, but he was also front and center and gave one of his rousing 20-minute soliloquies. You’d think that Padre’s human parish would be terrified of an eight-foot-tall shadow man talking about flooding the world with shadows, but I think they’re all too far gone now. They all seemed more or less comatose; if I had to guess, I’d say they were on the verge of going critical.
Now, I’m sure you’re all very curious about what insights Umbra had to offer, and I’m sad to say that it was fairly uninteresting stuff. It was the usual, “now she bears the cursed name of Fate, with her touch she’ll break the gate, with the daggers deep in hearts, soon we approach our final start.” Or something like that. We’ve been hearing the same thing since December, except now it’s daggers plural. I don’t think the Dagger-Daggers are involved in any of this. Then again, maybe? They are a rather apocalyptic bunch. Oh, also, it was definitely a “final start” and not a “brand-new start,” so that’s… concerning as ever.
Now, for the really juicy bits, the date for breaking the gate is still set for July 8th. We’ve also been given a specific place, the Garden of the Archons in the Necropolis. The same garden that leads to the Cimmerian Forest. The same forest Big Man Bart has been chopping down. Even if we can get all 13 stones to put Bart back in his place before the 8th, it seems like we’ll still have Padre’s plans to contend with. Great. Honestly, I’m still trying to wrap my head around this web of plans and plots. Morbid uses Bart to cut down the forest between the Necropolis and Everdark so he can take the Spire. Padre plans to use No. 7 to break some sort of gate, most likely the gate to Eden. Somehow Morbid and Padre’s plans have aligned. Otherwise, why would they be working together like this?
