We finally made it to the Creaking, and we were able to track down Theodosia Langley, thanks in no small part to No. 224’s help with conversing with the locals. We also ran into an unexpected Langley while in Mayda, though looking back at the poem No. 1313 spun, it does make sense. It’s pretty tragic, but I’m at least happy they’re not alone in Mayda. We’ll take the House back tomorrow and swing by the Spire to drop off Theodosia’s stone for Nikki and pick up No. 26 and 44. Then we just need to find the last three stones!

S.O.T.
No. 35: Um, excuse us, but we were told we could find Theodosia Langley here?
UNKNOWN: And what would you humans want with Theodosia Langley.
No. 323: We’re working on behalf of Solomon Langley.
UNKNOWN: Solomon? How is Solomon doing?
No. 323: Uh… huh. I don’t know if any of us actually know. Good, I guess?
UNKNOWN: Up to trouble again?
No. 35: Trying to prevent it, actually. He gifted a unique stone to each of his siblings, and now he needs to borrow them to avert catastrophe in the Necropolis.
UNKNOWN: Hm… unique stones? Now, why is this the first I’m hearing about this? THEODOSIA!
Theodosia: Yes, mother?
No. 35: Mother? Wait… You’re- you’re Lavinia Langley?
Lavinia: What of it?
No. 35: How did you end up in Mayda?
Lavinia: …
No. 1313: “Watched Bart get his skull cracked down by that ‘ol birch-tree, she let herself get swept off her feet and swept off to sea.”
Lavinia: That’s one way to put it.
No. 53: You just straight up walked into the ocean!?
Lavinia: What choice did I have?
No. 53: …not…?
Lavinia: Bart was everything to me and my entire world, and I saw him die horrifically in one lousy swing. I figured Solomon and Antionette could take care of the younger children better than I could have without him. Of course, I did not know at the time that where and how you die matters so much in where you end up on the Otherside. Still, I doubt nature would have been so kind to take me as well. And at least I get to spend my afterlife with one of my children.
Theodosia: And I’m glad I get to spend it with you too, mother. But… why did you call me? What’s wrong?
No. 422: We need your [stone.] The one Sssolomon gave you before you left for your trip. I assssume it’sss the one on your necklace?
Theodosia: …Yes. It is. Why does Solomon need it?
No. 35: Uh…
No. 422: Oh… well…
No. 53: Don’t dance around it. Bart’s chopping down the entire Necropolis.
Lavinia: Bart? But how-?
No. 1313: Dark magic has torn him from his rest in the Esterskald. He’s being used presumably by the Morbid King to weaken the new Queen of the Necropolis’ defenses.
No. 53: And the new Queen of the Necropolis is your granddaughter. It’s a whole messy family affair. But we’ve tracked down almost everyone else’s fancy rocks, and once we have all thirteen, your granddaughter should be able to use them to return your husband back to the Everwoods, where he can chop all day long and never make a dent. So. Stone, please.
Lavinia: I like this one. Theodosia dear, give them Solomon’s stone. Though… why did he make them, and when did he give them to you?
Theodosia: It was shortly after you and papa died. He made them to keep us safe though I’ve never seen them do anything.
No. 422: Are you kidding? You kept it even in deathhh. That’sss sssome ssstrong magic.
Theodosia: Huh… I guess I never really questioned why it was with me when I woke up underwater. But it certainly didn’t keep me from dying in the first place.
No. 422: He already made that missstake once.
Theodosia: What do you mean?
No. 422: Hm? Oh. Nothhhing. Jussst thinking out loud.
Theodosia: Are you all going to see Solomon again?
No. 323: Most likely. And Abner, and probably Damaris and Parthenia at the least. Why?
Theodosia: Could you give them all my love and tell them what happened to me? I meant to write once I got to shore but-
No. 35: We can definitely do that.
Theodosia: Thank you. And, I mean, it’s not the worst fate! Mayda is full of excitement and adventure and endless waters to explore. Though the tail makes it hard to travel out of the seas.
No. 422: At least you have handsss.
