RECEIPT AS OF: 10/11/01
BARISTA ON DUTY: ROMANO
RECEIPT FILED AS: C-TOB-04

Now, that’s what I call an impressive piece of technology! From what I could tell, the old feature of the CaDComs was a bit weak and certainly without any sense of direction. It just sealed up rips and tears. Of course, that feature never quite worked right—or at least that’s the sense I got from it being so far hidden. It is interesting that these CaDComs are, more or less, just repurposed from the First Cafe. You would have thought BaristaTech would’ve supplied fresh ones. That’s strange.

Galao also mentioned that there seems to be a lot of strange junk in these things. I mean, sure, there have been a few necessary modifications made, but there also seems to be some sort of… malware. Considering Lungo was the one who set up these CaDComs, well, I think it’s clear who put that there. Though Galao isn’t sure what it does yet if anything. I would bring it up to Lungo, but he reads all of these receipts anyway, so, hey, Lungo, what’s the deal with the A2Z.cafe file?

In any case, they are now fully fitted with point-and-zap electromagnetic capabilities, one of which is a directional EMP beam. That’ll certainly come in handy! And with a few further modifications, once we get out of here, we should be able to shut down unauthorized portals with these again. However, that might be a repair job better suited to BaristaTech and not just Galao. Hell, I think we should just let BaristaTech make us our own official CaDCom Series 2. That’d take care of all the vestigial bits and bobs and unwanted pieces of software lurking around.
