Summary of Receipt

The Owner finds it incredibly strange that the 'Cafe No Diner' would even be made, due to the sheer danger of such a profession - even they've already gotten three employees gone. He also remarks that them knowing 'Abby' so well probably means they're in over their heads, compounded by them feeling confident killing Carl and Phillip and opening another Otherside Portal...somehow. The Owner suggests showing them how little they truly know, and then - if possible - recruiting them.

THE OWNER

You know, they say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. It’s also probably worth noting that flattery is horrendously insincere by its very nature. Cafe No Diner, how would that work out? You can’t serve coffee without a side of eggs and toast! It’s boorish, egotistical, thoughtless, erroneous, naïve, outrageous, irresponsible, reckless, erratic, and downright dangerous. My ranting and raving (and finally getting some use out of my pocket thesaurus) aside, it really is quite the problem. Serving coffee—dealing with the Otherside in the way we do—it isn’t safe nor easy. People die. People we know, and love have died. It’s a miracle we’ve made it this far, only losing three employees.

And now, of all possible times to start a knockoff Cafe and Diner, is not a good time. A fanatical organization is being led by Satan himself, attempting to disrupt the Flipside to fulfill some sort of half-baked loophole to release his father, the Devil, which will bring about the end of the world as we know it. We don’t need a bunch of Otherside neophytes getting in our way and more than likely getting themselves killed. I mean, they’re already calling Abigail Hawthorne “Abby.” That is a level of familiarity I wouldn’t want to have with someone as dangerous as her.

Of course, we only know what the singular note we found from them said. From what we’ve seen, they want to continue Division Papa’s work. They want to open another portal to the Otherside, and it sounds like they were planning to overthrow and dispose of Carl and Philip if they could’ve stabilized the Pyramid Portal. I can’t tell if it’s naivety, confidence, or arrogance that they really think they could’ve overthrown two high-ranking Astorian Agents and then continue to use an Otherside portal. We don’t even have an Otherside portal! How could they possibly—No.

There is no need to berate this Cafe No Diner group. They are more than likely simply misguided and overconfident in their abilities. We might not be able to wean them off of coffee, but I suppose we could add a few more employees to our ranks.
