Summary of Receipt

Twain, Silenziosa and Blackwood visit Vile City to meet up with Ned Langley and meets his friend, Travis Norris (also known as the Third Cafe's 3311). He was apparently there to go hunt down his dead father to make sure he didn't rise to power once more, and directs them to where he last saw Nine, which was out in one of Pandemonium's trenches. Though he does turn down an invitation to go help out as part of November again.

Wow! The Vile City sure is… less vile than I imagined. It’s still pretty gruesome, I suppose, but I guess in my mind, it was going to smell a lot worse than it did. Admittedly the trenches of Pandemonium outside make the Vile City look like the Pleasant City by comparison. In any case, we met up with Silenziosa’s husband at a dive bar, and we might have a strong lead as to where we can find Nine!

S.O.T.

Silenziosa: Darling! How have you been?

Ned: NANCE! Growling goblins, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve seen you! And you brought friends! A Zulu and a…

Silenziosa: A Blackwood. Sarah.

Ned: A Blackwood?! Well, how about that! Can’t be Felix’s—you must be Marcelle’s kid. Well, put ‘er there! And you are…?

Twain: Shaka.

Ned: Shaka?! They got a new Shaka now. Jeez, I’ve been out of the office for a while. Well, it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance Shaka Two. Oh, right, right, and this is my good pal Travis Norris.

Travis: Howdy, Nance, Shaka, and… Sarah, was it?

Twain: Travis?! What are you doing in a dive bar in the Vile City?

Travis: I reckon I could ask what you’re doing dressed up as Shaka, but I doubt I’d like the answer.

Ned: Oh, you already know each other?

Travis: Ned… it’s Amber.

Ned: Amber? Little Amber from Long Island?

Twain: Well, what is the point of these masks if everyone just knows who we are anyway. But wait, you didn’t answer my question, Trav.

Travis: Oh. Yeah. Well, I just came by to kill my dad out in Pandemonium. He died a few months back, and it didn’t sit right with me that that fat son of bitch might have a chance at making it into the city as a full-fledged Demon of the Hauntaurskald. So, I figured after the whole war with Fate was done and dusted, it was as good a time as any to go and take care of that business.

Twain: Oh. Congrats! Was it…

Travis: Everything I ever dreamed of? Eh, I don’t know. Still trying to unpack it, I guess. But a weight’s been lifted, that’s for sure.

Twain: So, you came with Ned…?

Travis: Oh, I reckon we just ran into each other. Funny how that happens. I didn’t know he was taking a vacation down here until I made it into the city myself. But he’s been a great therapist, I tell ‘ya h’what.

Silenziosa: He is a great listener. Now, you boys said you saw Nine?

Travis: Funny ‘ya mention it, I did see Nine out there in Pandemonium. I tell ‘ya, I’ve run into more familiar faces in Hell than I would’ve expected. Didn’t really stop to chat, though. I don’t think he even saw me.

Ned: …and as far as I know, he hasn’t come into the city yet. Though we’ve been spending most of our time here.

Travis: Cheers!

Ned: Ahh! Cheers!

Blackwood: So… do you think Nine is still out in Pandemonium?

Travis: Hard to say. He does have the tendency to pop in an’ out of places.

Blackwood: Where did you see him?

Travis: Oh… It’s all one big trench, ain’t it? I suppose I saw him down by that there field of glass shards.

Silenziosa: I know where that is. Thank you, Travis. Congratulations on your patricide.

Travis: Thank ‘ya Nance. Though what are you doin’ hanging around Shaka Two and Miss. Blackwood, if’n ‘ya don’t mind me pryin’.

Twain: —Actually, it’s just Shaka.

Blackwood: Hanging around? Us? No, we hardly know each other…

Silenziosa: Agency work.

Ned: Agency work? They have you going to Pandemonium with Shaka Two—

Twain: Just Shaka.

Ned: —To find Nine? What does—

Silenziosa: I’ll fill you in later, dear. Alfa only asked because I’m acquainted with both Shaka and Nine. Ambassador work, basically.

Ned: Sure. But, Amber, you already know Nine, too, don’t ‘cha?

Twain: Sure… But I don’t… know the Vile City at all. Or Pandemonium, for that matter.

Ned: Ah. Well, I wish it was a better time to see the city, but with the all the chaos, you’d probably be better off coming back once things settle down.

Twain: I will definitely take you up on that offer, Ned. Good to see you—and good to see you too, Travis. Actually—we have a sort of Elder situation—

Travis: Not interested. Not now, at least. I didn’t want to end up back at the Agency.

Twain: Oh no, it’d be freelance consultation for—

Travis: Give me a call once you actually sort things out. But I ain’t going back to November.
