Summary of Receipt

71 brings an end to the search for Clemens early. With that gone, he suggests investigating Satan’s interest in Wilson High or figuring out what Astoria’s doing - and points out that if Clemens comes to them, well, that wouldn’t be anything the CaD could control.

RECEIPT #004

EMPLOYEE #71

Well, it seems that our search for Mr. Clemens has come to a rather anti-climactic end. Another, far more pushy customer, Mrs. Umbra, has politely requested we stop our search for Mr. Clemens, and so we must oblige. I know it must seem like we are rolling over unnecessarily on this. Still, customer satisfaction is our ultimate goal, and if stopping our search for Mr. Clemens would delight Mrs. Umbra, I'm afraid we have no choice in the matter.

So without Mr. Clemens' knowledge of Padre Santos' red book, we are at a bit of a loss though we can still move forward from here. In fact, we have quite the spread of comfort food to keep us sated in the interim. I believe #53 was looking into the recent increase in tremors and their effect on our business. There could be a connection between the tremors and the Church. Perhaps they built on unstable ground? We could also follow up on the Church's connection, or should I say interference, in Wilson High's affairs. The point is we can and will continue with or without Mr. Clemens' help.

Now you might think I am siding with Mrs. Umbra so quickly due to my own revelations regarding Mr. Clemens, and I wish I could assure you that it was not the case. I will say a part of me worries about aligning ourselves with Mr. Clemens and, more importantly, Mr. Clemens' knowledge. Though this is simply not the case. Mrs. Umbra would like us to stop seeking Mr. Clemens. But if Mr. Clemens were to come to us? We would be utterly unable to stop him, yes? Something to sleep on, at the very least.
