Summary of Receipt
Dowser mentions that the Eastend Mall is ‘alive’ and constantly growing, causing Eastend to be split into Eltersin (everything) and Eastend (the mall and some cheap apartments). Dowser suggests working with the Eidolons, but Scry’s against it since they’re rivals to the ‘Good Guys’. Also, after 8-Ball died, one of their main members defected to the Eidolons. Dowser thinks they should do it, since they’re the CaD and ‘can work with whoever we want’, but Scry thinks otherwise.

DOWSER
RECEIPT: IN THE MANOS OF MUERTE
STATUS: OPEN
Ok so, like Rhyme said a day or so ago, the Eastend Mall is... weird. It's... alive. I've been doing research into the mall, and it's super weird. It was built in 2097 and only had three stores, and no one even remembers what those stores were. Then, around 2103 the mall expanded despite low sales and foot traffic. Basically, the Eastend District was a historic district full of museums and statues and demon war stuff, so not really the shopping mecca of Dive. That was, and I guess still is, Kaysh Square.
Nonetheless, the mall started expanding. By 2106 the mall grew so large and pervasive that the more residential areas and the Cathedral of the Final Testament of Jesus Christ petitioned the city of Dive to break up the district to preserve what little space they had left. So they broke Eastend into "New Eastend," usually just called Eastend and Eltersin, which just means Eastend in demon. So now Eltersin has the church and all the old rich people houses, and New Eastend just has a few low-rent apartments and the ever-present, ever-open, ever-expanding Eastend Mall.
All that to say... it's no wonder Dr. Deadhand could get a space in Eastend the rent is rock bottom because no one wants to live next to the creepy expanding mall. If Rhyme is right, it also means that the Eidolons probably already know Dr. Deadhand's whereabouts and general motives. I mean, we don't know how much this "Phantom" really knows about what happens near the mall, but I'm guessing an Elder that old has to have a vague idea of what's happening right under its... nose? Face? Eh, you get the point.
So it might be a good idea to actually work with the Eidolons? I don't know. Scry seems very against the idea. Apparently, they're kind of like... rivals or something to the Good Guys. Well, rivals who are more than ok with murder. Also, one of the main Good Guys defected to them after 8-Ball's death. So... Yikes. Still, I think it would be worth talking to them. I mean, we aren't "Good Guys" technically, right? We're the Cafe and Diner. We can work with whoever we want. Still, we should send someone to have a sit-down without letting Scry know. She seems very, uh, touchy about that whole group.
