The Dover Demon is a High Demon from the Hauntaurskald. The Fourth Cafe attempted to deal with him in 2021, though he later joined them to help serve Miss. Augustine, after which he joined as a permanent member of the Last Cafe, No. VI.
Biography
Dover is an Eishethic Demon from the Hauntaurskald; his sister is Mrs. Tudor. Though not much is known of his time before crossing paths with the CaD, he is a known follower of the CaD Archives, even though he already knows what has happened in each of them. At some point, he shattered his sister's mirror, granting him powers that, more or less, allow him to shift Cycles around. Initially, he used his powers to "scramble" the home planes of customers, such as causing Mrs. Hanako to shift between Yokai, Yuurei, Amaymonian Demon and Hauntaurskaldian Demon, or when he gave Mrs. Cheesman, a customer from the Esterskald-Mayda Cusp, Achegloom abilities. This presented a unique challenge to the Fourth Cafe in 2021, however they managed to trick him into being sent to the Phantom Lane by Edgar Lane, who then brought him to his cycle, the Tuskkin Cycle.
Dover apparently did not have a good time with the Eidolons, and later returned in 2022 to assist the Fourth Cafe in returning Miss. Augustine to Eden. While he initially wanted to have his sister's mirror repaired to do this, the Cafe was unable to find someone who was both willing and able to do so, so they were forced to go with another plan. Namely, Dover would use his powers to shift the entire Ouroboros out of the way in order to reveal Eden, whereupon they would return Augustine to her home plane, and hopefully the Ouroboros would return to its place. Ex-Employee No. 71 was to use her Phantom-granted powers in order to "charge" him up so that he'd had the power to do this.
The plan worked, somewhat. Augustine was returned to Eden, yes, but shifting the Ouroboros brought it and Eden back into motion, and Eden was therefore opened. Additionally, No. 71 was overwhelmed by dimensional energies when trying to shift the Ouroboros back into place, and Dover was unable to save her mortal soul. Despite this, Dover was offered a position in the Last Cafe, which he readily accepted, taking the codename No. VI, though his main project currently is to jog the memories of VII by travelling around various Cycles.
Personality
Dover is a rather easy-going demon, with an affinity for pranks and other such jokes. He is a big fan of the Cafe and Diner, keeping up with the Archives even though he had no need to. He does take responsibility for his actions, however, though it usually takes him a while.
Ties That Bind
- Son of Eisheth and brother to Mrs. Tudor, though the two don't seem to get along well.
- Seems close to No. VII, though the reasons why are unknown at time of writing.
