Answer and Explanation
Answer: Warm Socks
Explanation: In CD-FLW05, Mr. Hyer warns the Cafe and Diner to bundle up, and commented into C-FLW07 is another warning, mentioning how his feet grew colder with each step he takes. To combat cold feet, put on some warm socks.
Summary of Receipt
Jean, the original Owner, leaves a Deep Corp 23 message regarding Mr. Hyer, or the Flatwoods Monster, along with Indrid Cold. Hyer was apparently an angelic AI used for record-keeping in Topside (heaven) where Jean originally came from, in the 15th Sphere. The issue is Indrid Cold. In the 15th Sphere, Cold came to pass over the Ice Machine and warn them of Pleasant. In the 16th, however, it’s Hyer. The next question would therefore be what Belphegor and Mammon did to Cold so that he can’t pass on the machine, and how they somehow managed to take on a High Elder. Also, apparently Cold’s ‘errata-filters’ can somehow detect the use of the number 8 (very likely due to Cold’s link with Fate).

Well isn’t this strange and unusual, even for us. I knew the effect of my defiance of death would cause ripples throughout the cycle. Trust me I spent far too many eons with the Bird to not be aware that there would be consequences. I assumed Sophie would be ever so hard at work ironing out as many of these wrinkles as possible but this, this is a strange one.
Where is Indrid Cold? What has Sophie and Yonomo done with him? I know this is clearly Sophie’s handy-work, the “Flatwoods Monster” is just an angelic AI we used to use Topside for record keeping. So of course Sophie sends it to do what I can only assume is her job. But why is that her job? I know the 15th cycle and its events up until the Apocalypse like the back of my hand and Mr. Cold should have been here. He was the one who gave this CaD their Ice Machine. He warned CaD of Mrs. Pleasant.
Now, I’m no fool. I know Mr. Cold is far from what he seems. Perhaps he couldn’t make it, like so many others of his kin. But that, to me, feels unlikely. Mr. Cold would want to be there. Mr. Cold would want to put his influence over the Broadway CaD like he did before. So the only explanation I can come to is that Sophie and Yonomo prevented him from being in this picture. But how would two lowly Princes of Hell stop a High Elder? Perhaps we’ve taken their power for granted.
Either way… with Cold seemingly out of the picture, there isn’t much reason to continue obscuring my name. Only he had access to errata-filters that strong.
So for now we will continue our work under the guise of Chaos.
