Diner Menu
DISCLAIMER: DUE TO PROBLEMATIC DATA ENCRYPTION, SOME OLD DATA FROM THE 15TH SPHERE WAS SADLY CORRUPTED AND LOST.

Summary of Events

The CaD releases its new Diner Menu, a code for decrypting its messages.

Restored Tweet

Text has been lost in data corruption.

(Tweet was not archived, nor does any URL still work. It used to link to 'https://www.cafeanddiner.com/diner-menu/', but that was deleted following the end of the 15th Sphere.)

Receipt

(There was no transcript, but rather a webpage of their new cipher. It's explained below.)

Notes

The Diner Menu contains sixteen foods, each assigned to a certain number. There is also a price attached to each food - for the first, it's $1.17, the second is $2.18, the third is $3.19, and so on. Essentially, both the dollars and cents increase by one, with the cents looping back to .01 after reaching $10.26. Thus, with all sixteen foods, 32 numbers appear - 1 to 26, then looping around from 1 to 6 again (see link below if this doesn't make any sense). The first set of 26 numbers correspond to the alphabet, while the last six are numbers. Since each number has two possible meanings, a repeated number (e.g. 22 or 66) means to read the second number instead. Thus, in actual ciphertext, should the number '2' appear, it would decode to the letter 'b', while 22 would decode to 'r', the 18th letter of the alphabet. 1 is therefore expressed as 1* to avoid confusion, and 8 is H. Lastly, substitution may be necessary (see Goodnight Friends), which alters the position of the prices and the foods. A tool for solving the Diner Menu code can be found here: http://golmote.free.fr/cad-menu/

There's also apparently coded text reading 'VIVE LE CAFE ET LE DINER' somewhere.
