Summary of Receipt

17 meets up with 26. The case is pretty weird, since there’s a strange swarm of flies that devour the leftover human flesh that Stevens eats. However, they can’t really do anything to investigate since Mrs. Pleasant is still at large. The three plans they come up with are to dump Stevens with Astoria, leave her to wander for now, or send her back to the Otherside, with the third one being the popular option.

CAFE AND DINER RECEIPT FROM 9/12/17
MANAGER 17 AND 26
RECEIPT: MRSSTEVENS05
STATUS: TABLED
17 here. Finally met up with 26. I’ve been tailing Mrs. Pleasant’s flight from Hotbed Airport in West Virginia and we finally crossed paths here in Arizona. Nothing too notable on my cross-country trip, and I might as well save that for a MRSPLEASANT02 anyway.

So… Let’s talk about Mrs. Stevens. 26 was absolutely right. Something is way off about Mrs. Stevens. Every time she eats a literal swarm of flies seemingly manifests around her and devours whatever scraps she leaves behind. Me and 26 have been discussing it and considering what we know about Mrs. Stevens and what our local Family knows about her from previous encounters… This is new behavior. Strange behavior. Could it have something to do with the August blood moon? We know that it has caused various oddities especially along boundary lines, and this is one of the biggest boundary lines in NA. Or is it somehow related to Mrs. Honey’s fly problem?

Regardless of what’s going on with Mrs. Stevens we have a slightly more pressing issue at the moment with Mrs. Pleasant who is currently still flying west. We can’t just leave Mrs. Stevens in a cage hidden away in a cave in Arizona but also I kind of want to get to the bottom of this. 26 and I both agree, the Cafe is not a good place for her as we just aren’t set up to hold cryptids right now. So that gives us a few options, none of which are that great.

Option 1) We give Mrs. Stevens over to, I can’t believe I’m going to say this, A23. Could be a sign of good faith? A sort of “thank you” for your help with the DC23 hack. Although our partnership has been terminated so they might not even bother taking her in.

Option 2) We let her roam the Mogollon Rim until we have time to come back, recapture, and then study her. Not a great choice, especially considering she does eat humans and we have zero idea on the time-frame for when we can even do that. It’s not very CaD-like to just leave and assume things will sort themselves out. Plus it could damage our relationship with our local Family here.

Option 3) Send her off to the Otherside. Why not right? 26 got a blood sample and we know where she’s supposed to go in the Otherside. Pretty standard catch and release for us. However… that leaves the mysterious flies as just that. Mysterious. I can’t say that I’m crazy about just letting go of this case just yet. I mean, I just got here!

All in all, I think the best play here and now is to send her back to the Otherside. Keeps Family happy and we don’t have to deal with Friends. Wouldn’t want to get too chummy with them anyway. Superstition Airport is close by, probably where Mrs. Stevens flew in from in the first place, so we’ll drop her off and follow Mrs. Pleasant.

Consider this tab… tabled. I want to come back to it if and when we can. For now I guess we’ll just have to keep our eyes out for strange flies.
