AEB02

Summary of Receipt

Manager 5 explains that his secrecy regarding Miss. Augustine is, while annoying, necessary - the CaD doesn’t know what to call the Plane that Augustine is from. They have their regular ‘menu’ - code names for all seven Otherside Planes, and the six Otherworld Planes. He suggests adding two new codes: Old Fashioned for Elders, and Daiquiris for the 8th Otherside Plane. He does, however, warn that if they send Augustine back to the 8th Otherworld Plane, it’ll likely open it up into the regular Otherside. And that would be bad.

Right, well, I'm sure it's not much of a bloody secret anymore, is it? Miss. Augustine has been visiting our Cafe for a month or so now. Want to know more about her? Big Guy wrote up a rather nifty little profile on her in the AND channel search for SWTC08, and you'll find it. You're on your own and all that, but AEB01's a great place to start. Anyway, I'm sure some of you are right mad at me for keeping this whole thing under wraps, but you have to understand Augustine is no joke and the better part of valor tends to be discretion, choice?

Part of my hesitation is that we don't know what Miss. Augustine would like to drink. Well, we know where she'd like to drink it, but no name to the place yet. I know it's a silly reason to keep it hush-hush, but we must have the proper drink in place. And, yes, there were other reasons to keep it deep down. But I really do think we need to figure out what we will add to our menu. As I see it, we currently have:

Coffee With Cream—makes sense. Hot Chocolate, don't mind if I do. Orange Juice is a diner staple. Green Tea, for the health benefits. Ice Water, for the indecisive. Corpse Reviver under the counter for the party animals out there. Snake Oil, too, though I wouldn't buy into it between you and me. Apple Juice, sometimes one word, sometimes two. Amazake for festive occasions. Ichor for those feeling extra egotistical. Mead for the cold winters. Red Wine for the fancy few. And most recently we started selling London Fogs.

So, two new drinks I think are well in order. Firstly, as Big Guy suggested a while back—Old Fashioneds. Who doesn't love a nice Old Fashioned? Makes a bloke feel right smart-and-proper. Obviously, that is a non-descript drink as you can swap the base spirit out for whatever pleases you. It is more intended to satisfy all of our Elderly customers, choice? I mean, you can never really pin all of 'em to one drink, can you?

Now, for my newer suggestion. Daiquiris. I've spent many restless nights considering the best possible drink to serve Miss. Augustine, and I have settled on a Daiquiri. If you aren't counting our more otherworldly offerings, it makes for our extraordinary eighth drink. While Miss. Augustine might end up being the only one to order a Daiquiri, it's still worth adding to the menu. Something No. 71 said, or maybe something someone else told her, there is no closing certain doors once they are open. Just like with the London Fogs, we can't exactly scratch it off the menu once it has been added. If we are able to sell a Daiquiri once, there is no telling who else might want one. This really places us into another dicey situation where the Cafe and Diner might just be stepping on certain higher-up's toes.

Well... just food, or, you know, beverages, for thought.
