Summary of Receipt

Payroll gets in touch with Nick Langley, still working as a spy against A23. Basically - Astoria views themselves as the good guys, with the CaD as ‘eh’. Being a spy for the CaD, thus, is annoying but overlookable. Working for the Dark, however, is certainly not. Duplicity - also known as Agent Webber, or Robert Wolzek - is apparently from an alternate timeline known as the Tuskkin Cycle, which would be surprising except that he’s from Division Beta. Apparently they’re for dealing with extra-dimensional threats. Anyway, Duplicity can create clones of himself.

I finally heard back from my own personal nerd. Turns out this Duplicity guy is, or was, a legit Bravo Agent. It sounds like he was pretty high up in the ranks, too, before he started working for Umbra. A23 doesn't take too kindly to traitors. Trust me, my brother knows that. However, there's a bit of a difference between being a double agent and rubbing elbows with the shadows. See, as I understand it, A23 likes to be the "good guys." They also begrudgingly see the Cafe and Diner as "ok guys," so when you double-cross them for the Cafe, they're annoyed but understanding. But if you double-cross them for an organization literally calling themselves THE DARK, run by Satan's former gang? Mm… yeah, they don't like that.

Case in point, A23 felt my sweet Nickawoo was still worthy of receiving a threat alert about Agent Webber. Seems like Webber's been completely burned at this point. They even dropped his real name, Robert Wolzek. Guess he's also got a pretty large bounty on his head. That's how you know A23 means business. I guess it's somewhat of a relief that A23 isn't full-on working with the Dark. But they have also tried to end the world before, so let's keep our guards up, yeah?

Anyway, I was wrong about Duplicity's powers. Turns out his thing is that he can create duplicates of himself. I guess that makes his name like a bad pun or something. He's also not from our dimension. He's from a neighboring dimension A23 called "The Tuskkin Cycle." I know that sounds pretty wild, but I guess it's not too uncommon for Bravo Agents to be from other dimensions. Their whole Division basically deals with other dimensional affairs. So, I'm pretty confident that Third Cafe, Umbra, Duplicity, and Slon ended up in this "Tusskin" place. At least we know where they are now, but there's still not much we can do to help them directly.
