I guess the hour must have been right because the Angel and his snake returned to the Cafe. They showed up around 7 A.M., well before we're usually, like, open. But, of course, I made an exemption for them because I think we all want to know what their deal is. I know that they could have been dangerous, but I don't know. It's hard to explain, but I could feel a certain warmth from him. I guess that's probably like, an Angel thing, huh? Anyway, today, they both seemed a bit more open to a chat—yes, both of them. The snake apparently speaks and knows the Manager. Well, give the transcript a read, and let me know what you all think about letting them help. I'm always happy to have some extra hands around! ...Or, uh, hands and a tail.

S.O.T. Angel: Be not afraid.
H.R.: You, uh, really like to say that, huh?
Angel: I must if I wish to converse with mortals.
H.R.: So you are an Angel?
Angel: Yes. My name is Alaric Austere.
H.R.: That’s a very pretty name!
Alaric: Thank you. It is not my true name, of course, but it is the name I have chosen for now.
H.R.: I wasn’t given a name when I was born, but I like to go by Joy.
Alaric: It is a pleasure, Joy.
???: Joy! It’sss ssso good to sssee you again!
H.R.: Uh, did your snake just-
Alaric: Speak? Yes. He is a rather chatty ophidian. You can call him— wait, what name would you like to go by?
???: Mm… tough quessstion. Daichi.
Alaric: Daichi?
Daichi: Yesss. It sssuits me, no?
Alaric: I suppose in some ways you are indeed big and earthly. Well, there you have it. Daichi.
H.R.: Well, it’s nice to meet you too, Daichi. Though you said, it was good to see me again?
Daichi: Ssslip of the tongue. Don’t worry. Where’s [The Manager]?
H.R.: Sleeping off a long night, I’d assume.
Daichi: Ah, of courssse. You know, me and [The Manager] go wayyy back. We usssed to work in IRIS together.
H.R.: Really? IRIS hires talking snakes?
Daichi: They hired thisss one.
H.R.: So… what can I help you both with?
Alaric: Ah, of course. How rude. You have been dealing with an organization known as the Dark, yes?
H.R.: Yeah…
Alaric: My associate and I wish to help.
H.R.: Really? That’d be— well, wait… How can we trust you?
Daichi: He’sss a freaking Angel, Joy. Cosmic boy-ssscout. Besssides I’m sssure [The Manager] would LOVE to have me on board.
H.R.: Hm… Well, it’s not really my choice to make.
Alaric: Of course. Confer with your allies. We will return in a week to hear your decision. Come, Daichi. We have other affairs to tend to. Be well, Joy, and stay in the light.
