RECEIPT: ITSFRIDAYAGAIN03
STATUS: OPEN
I was talking with 53 the other day, and something she said got me thinking, can we beat Friday at his own game? It seems like 53 is dead-set on a perception-altering methodology of avoiding Friday the 13th. Basically, if we can’t know that it’s the 13th, Friday can’t use us to come to the Flipside. Of course, Friday could use literally anyone else in the general L.A. area, but I’m pretty sure he’d be confined to their house/hallway. I’m not super clear on his terms, especially because we were dealing with a powered-up version of him with the Temple, but I think he’s bound to one hallway at a time.
Now, 53 has some… “interesting” ideas for how we could alter our temporal perception, but what if we didn’t need to? What if I used my warping powers to systematically move us around the globe, keeping us on Friday the 14th? It… could work? I guess the major risk is that I burn myself out in the process, and we get stuck in like the middle of Norway, and Friday the 13th catches up to us. But I also wonder if it would matter? After a few jumps, I can only imagine we’d be pretty jet-lagged, or warp-lagged, and we might not even know the actual date if we aren’t checking it.
Something else probably worth considering… is Friday that much of a threat anymore? I get that he’s a pretty serious Boogieman and all, but we managed his whole juiced-up Crow form fine. Now he’s back to being a single-date kind of Boogieman who, as far as we know, is stuck to hallways. Plus, with Cain in charge of things in the Hauntaurskald, I’m guessing any Satan-loyal Boogiemen are at an even greater disadvantage. Maybe we should just stay and fight him? And by “fight,” I mean we keep him busy until our Pacific-Time Friday the 13th runs out. I’m down to give it a shot. Worst case, I can warp us out of there, or… well… Amber has a “back up plan,” but I think just warping out would be safer.
