#8/The Original Owner/Manager No. 0/No. I

Well, what is there to say about the enigmatic 8 that hasn’t already been said? My playlist for him is just as eclectic as he is, bouncing around from garage rock to acoustic folk, and of course a dip down into some lilith as well. Also a ska song snuck its way in there, somehow. His songs deal with themes of introspection, existential questioning, and societal observations for the man who has quite literally seen and done it all, over and over again.

Playlist

1.

And even God herself has fewer plans than me

But she never helps me out with my scams for free, though
She grabs a stick and then she points it at me

When I say nothing, I say everything

2.

I'm petty at best

Someone to pity at worst
Putty in beautiful hands
Potty mouth ready to curse
Cursed to be curious if all this is a scam

And I had to Google narcissist to check if that's what I am

3.

Tu cries, tu souffres, et tu souris

Tu broies du noir, et tu rougis
Tu cries, tu souffres, et tu souris

Tu broies du noir et tu serais

4.

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes

Let them know you realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down

It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

5.

Give me your eyes, I need sunshine

Your blood, your bones, your voice and your ghost
We've both been very brave
Walk around with both legs
Fight the scary day
We both pulled the tricks out of our sleeves, but

I'll believe in anything and you'll believe in anything

6.

Every single night

I endure the flight
Of little wings of white-flamed
Butterflies in my brain
These ideas of mine
Percolate the mind
Trickle down the spine

Swarm the belly, swelling to a blaze

7.

I wish I could believe, in something bigger

In the space that lies between, the good and bad here
The angels and the thieves are drinking coffee

But I just want some sleep

8.

And I was told, "boy, prepare for war"

But they failed to mention what I'd be fighting for
So I fight for this, the fact that as I pass away I'll feel her kiss

And I sigh, what a wonderful life

9.

Systematic world killing me

Getting numb really fulfills me
Takes me higher, some place I've never been
I'm about to wake up, and live again
Watch it burn, like a firebird
I'm coming back until
The world is yours

The world will be mine

10.

If the price of life is hell
Well no one ever had to sell me on how nice a fire smells
