Summary of Receipt
1313 realises that Abner’s medium is Sirius itself, the star. This is a clear sign of his - and all of the Langleys, really - incredible power. Solomon, Abner, Malachi and Magdalena Langley are all Witches of Belphegor, an incredibly rare thing - she usually doesn’t take them. Though, it’s likely because she didn’t want them to fall into Fate’s hands instead. Lastly, 1313 warns that the Cold is getting stronger and, as Abner has said, Sirius is crying and the stars are fading.

Sirius. That's Abner's viewing medium. It has to be. Though how he is able to utilize an entire star… I suppose it speaks to his power as an Augur. The Langleys, in general, are a terrifyingly powerful clan, both the living and the dead. Solomon, Abner, Malachi, and Magdalena are all witches of Belphegor, a title held by exceedingly few. Belphegor is not exactly known for taking witches, though I have a theory on why she chose them. Also, I apologize for the lack of rhyme and prose. I'm… trying to rely on it less. Both because I don't want it to solely define me and… well… Abner isn't wrong. Sirius is crying, stars are fading, constellations are breaking, and the universe is getting increasingly cold.
First, I suppose I should explain a bit. I know in the past, I have seldom explained my poems. In part, to explain Fate's machinations is a fool's game. Every poem, every stanza, every line, and every rhyme holds not only one meaning but endless. If I were to frequently interpret the rhymes of Fate, I would surely be playing into its hands. I am tired of being another pawn of Fate. With all this talk of Augurs, I doubt it would shock many to know that I, too, am an Augur. I am an Augur by choice, not by birth. Fate offered its schemes to me, and I took them. And now I am starting to regret it.
Fate is not an entity to be trifled with. The only weakness of Fate is its greatest strength. It leaves symbols, riddles, and rhymes in its wake. To ensure that things go according to Fate, things must be woven into the cosmic tapestry, so to speak. And the Langleys are certainly a strong thread. Their family symbol is a black hound, and that is no coincidence. An omen of death. Fate has plans for the Langleys, which is why Belphegor was so aggressive in taking them under her influence. I shudder to think how dangerous Solomon would be as an agent of Fate and not on the other Hand.
Though, what good does that do us when the stars themselves are falling apart? All it takes now is a dagger plunged deep into the heart. Though, for the dagger to strike, it would only be right for there to be a heart left to spike.
