Well… now that Nine has gotten all of his data… boy, oh boy, it’s not looking good. I know I just said we’d be ready in 3-to-4 months, but… we might not have that much time. The Kings of Roses and villain-arc No. 512 have really done a number on the Planes and are getting really close to what looks like some sort of Plane absorption. On the one hand, there isn’t really the threat of them somehow using the Planes to get the Keys to Gates of Hell—seeing as the Keys are gone, or at the very least entirely useless right now, but they’re definitely doing SOMETHING that would draw an unbelievable amount of inherent power from the Planes.
If I had to guess, they’re trying to become the new Princes of Hell. Rune would obviously be the new Asmodeus considering she actually has Asmodeus’ blood already inside her. And Zagan would probably be Satan. Not sure who’d they get for the other Planes… but if they are able to succeed, then it would effectively end the lineage of the Princes of Hell. No more Lucifer, no more Mammon, no more Satan, no more Belphegor, no more Beelzebub, no more Leviathan, and no more Asmodeus. And then? Well, I can only imagine that Rune would use the power of the Necropolis to somehow raise the dead and complete Project Lazarus.
Still… I don’t know if we should try and stop Rune. Or, no, let me rephrase that. We obviously should try and stop Rune, but I don’t think we should do so with imperfect Soul Magic. Souls are pretty sacred things. One wrong move, decision, and stupid screw-up can ruin a soul forever. And no amount of research, schemes, or plans can fix a broken soul. I’ve tried. I guess what I’m trying to say is just because the natural order of the Universe is in peril, we need to stay calm and not do anything rash. Panicking always leads to tragedy—and trust me, you do not want the blood of a broken Soul on your hands.
