RECEIPT AS OF: 7/13/01
BARISTA ON DUTY: DOPPIO
RECEIPT FILED AS: JFB-03
We made it to Sin City without any issues, dears. Unfortunately, our investigation into the coffee trade will have to wait until tomorrow as we are trying to sell our coffee to a still-operating middle school. And as you all know, middle schoolers and coffee are simply not a good mix. I remember when my little love got his hands on coffee for the first time in middle school. Ah, he was bouncing off the walls for hours—if not days. Interestingly his sister never seemed to get much out of coffee. In any case, this extra day gives Espresso and myself ample time to devise a cover for our infiltration into the school to not alert or arouse suspicion in the local competition here.

Well, that is to say, our other employer already knows we are here, and they merely assume we are providing actuary services to the local fast food joints. A decent cover, no doubt, as Sin City is positively crawling with fast food joints. I can only assume that is what has kept Mr. Robison busy here for so many years. However, cover or not, it is certainly more dangerous here than in L.A. And it would be best to keep our heads down and out of trouble. I’d hate to have a Dagger thrust into our back or an Avaricious glance thrown our way.

Though, something I have found quite interesting is that the usual crowd isn’t alone here. While it wouldn’t take me by surprise to see quite a few buffets offering scrambled eggs, there has been an unsettling amount of pomegranate pies for sale too. I don’t want to jump to conclusions, though, so I will leave it at that for now. However, it is concerning that pomegranate pies are becoming more and more prevalent in coffee hubs around the world. Well, I suppose it is a good thing we are looking into that.
